Most Kingdoms are ruled by pyramid ranking, with the highest peak occupied by the emperor that rules all of his conquered lands, and the lowest slab being the slaves that work endlessly to the point where time is relative, as is the truth of oneself. It's a common order of people's lives and recognized by all, when one's rank is higher then their own, the lower is automatically at service and offers their respect to them. The laws, of course, differ from each domain.
However, miracles started to occur and this led the people to believe that a higher being than their ruler, has bestowed upon all.
The very first miracle was upon the Beryl Kingdom, a once lively region placed between the Barbarian, Hearthstone, Creatorian, and Shigaraki Kingdoms. Though it was a wonderful place to live, surrounded by hillsides and forest trees that the people freely roamed, the King and Queen were hopeless as they could not have an heir. Therefore, this led them to come to an agreement with the Barbarian Kingdom that when they perished, they would be the ones to have their home with their people, castle, and riches. Years come and go before the King had to leave his wedding for war alongside the Barbarian Kingdom to battle against the Shigaraki Kingdom and put an end to all of their wrongdoings. The war had lasted a decade, soldiers of all generations joining the army, more falling in battle, and the cycle repeating itself all over again until the King succumbed to his knees with a sword drawn through his middle, but he wasn't the only one as the King of Beryl was in the same situation. At that moment, he had looked into the sky and closed his eyes, putting purpose behind his prayer and asked for his queen, the literal love of his life, to have something to remember him by.
That day, The Barbaric and Beryl Kingdom won the battle with one King remaining. However, as his soldiers were sent back to their homes, the Barbarian King set sail to the Beryl Kingdom to give the news to the queen about her fall. He was going to simply say that she had the choice to either become one empire under the Barbarian name or allow her a chance to find a new King to marry in the lands beyond their own, an impossible mission but a choice nonetheless.
To the Barbarians King's surprise, however, the overheard words of the fallen King had become true when his eyes beckoned down to the queen holding a child in her quaking arms with the exact resemblance of her beloved King. However joyful the moment was for both the queen and the Kingdom, it was short lived when the Barbarian King had to kneel before her as he had presented the King's crown, announcing his unspoken death in the war.
"With a miracle comes a price" The queen had said as she looked ahead before her eyes tested to the heir to the throne, sure that it was hers and her beloved's son as she did not have an affair "Thee's death bestowed me a newborn and I can't be more grateful to have memory of him"
The barbarian King had left the Kingdom on daybreak and set sail back to his homeland to finish the conquest of the Shigaraki Kingdom and become an Empire, whilst also announcing the Miracle of the Beryl Kingdom for all to know. That day forward, people of all kinds and all ranks, prayed for miracles as well, asking for good soil, short winters, bountiful crops, and more and built small runes dedicated to the Miracle Giver and making offerings of their own as a trading ritual. More runes were then built for a separate God, more people believing, prayers of all kinds being chanted, and all kinds of gifts varying from jewels to food being placed in front of the Gods statue until becoming the peak of everyone's attention, ruling the world unknowingly.
Then, when the miracle baby had died at a young age, doubts started to wander through the lands, amongst trading posts and people of the neighboring kingdom or village. Questions of whether their wishes were to be too great and fearing that an even greater offering were needed, whether they weren't giving enough to the gods above, before their words were to be twisted and a fate of doom should fall upon them as well just as did the Queen of the Beryl Kingdom.
