Leila's P.O.V.
I went about the day asking everyone about my past, hoping that one of them would crack. It had then hit me. I forgot to call Silva and the rest. I quickly went to my room and pulled out the phone. I finally figured out how to call her number. "Hey Si-"
"Are you okay?! What happened?!" I heard her voice through the cellular device.
"I'm fine, don't worry. I just forgot to call."
"It's noon. Are you-"
"Bish, do I have to beat someone up?" Silva was cut off by Jeff's voice.
"Do I have to go be your knight in shining armor?" Wylie's voice appeared. I laughed.
"No no, I'm at home, safe. I need to go though. I'm busy."
"You just called..." Jeff said.
"I know, I just wanted to let y'all know." I told them.
"Y'all? Since when did you know the definition of that word?" Silva asked.
"Huh? I didn't say that?"
"Yes you did." Jeff's voice came back.
"I got to go, talk to you all later." I quickly said and hung up the phone. I still had Luna, Masky, and Toby left. I decided against asking Luna due to high tensions and Masky was out on a mission at the moment, so it left me with Toby. I knocked on his door and waited for the call to enter. As soon I appeared, he tensed.
"Uh, hi Toby." I said awkwardly.
"H-Hi Lyr- Leila." He ticked. "Wh-hat do you need?" His neck cracked.
"I just wanted to talk to about my past. May I sit?" I asked, he nodded and I sat in a chair across from him.
"Wh-what do y-you want to know." He seemed nervous. He might be the one to crack.
"Any memories you have of me."
"U-uh, well you joined before I did. A-and you would always stick up for me when da- I mean the other pastas were messing with me. And there was this one time, we wen-ent out in public to the park. You and I-I were doing the monkey-bars. Bu-but I fell and scraped my knee." He stopped himself and inhaled deeply. His voice was becoming shaky and I could see through his goggles that he was tearing up. "I-I scraped my knee really badly, though I couldn't feel it. B-but you fixed me up and- and made sure it wouldn't get infected-" He was cut off by his own sob. I went over and sat by him, comforting him as best I could. I thought we were immortal? Our cuts should heal instantly. When questioning everyone, I kept gaining more of my memory back, not what they were talking about. But more towards, Araceli. I knew enough to know that she was dead and Slender was the cause of it. He had to be.
"Are you okay, Toby?" I asked him quietly. He was propping himself on his knees. He suddenly straightened himself and threw off his goggles. He looked at me with tear-filled eyes and hugged me. Did he think I was Lyra? I hesitantly hugged back.
"I-I'm sorry I cou-couldn't help you. I'm sorry that 'dad' was an asshole a-and I-I'm s-so sorry of w-what I turned i-into." I could barely make out his words. I felt bad for him, from what I heard, he cherishes his sister. He's felt guilty since her death and he had a terrible past, just like us all. Though, others seem to handle it better. I hugged him back and soothed him. When he was calmed down, I got up and walked towards the door.
"Wait, don't leave me again Lyra!" He cried. I looked back at him.
"I won't, don't worry." I stepped out into the hallway and shut the door behind me. His actions got me thinking. He stays because it's worse for him to go back than being here. He kills, but that's what seems to soothe him. They've all gone insane, and I'm the next one in line. I started heading for the stairwell to see if Masky had come back yet.
Midway down the steps, I suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my head that made me grab onto the railing. There was an unbearable ringing sounding in my ears and my eye's hurt like Hell. I shut my eyes tightly and held my head. The pain only got worse and I screamed. It was the only thing I could do to call for help. My legs felt weak, my muscles gave out and I fell to the bottom of the stairwell. Through all the dots, I saw two figures run to me. I think it was Hoodie and BEN, though it could've also been Jack.
The hooded one pulled me onto my back, yup definitely Hoodie. I was quickly loosing consciousness and he was trying to tell me something. W-what.. Happened? Maybe it was 'What's wrong.' Slender appeared by me just as I fell into darkness.
