I opened my eyes and pain was shooting through my body. I couldn't move my limbs. My vision became clear and I saw that I was chained to a stone wall. I cried out but no one answered me.
"What's your name?" a whisper came from the dark.
"Anna-May. Who are you? Where are we?" I yanked at the chains and my wrist throbbed.
"Anna? Oh, my God. You shouldn't have come home.!" The voice was urgent. I recognized it as my best friend from home, LeeAnna.
"LeeAnna? What are you doing here? It's Allen... He's a--"
"Vampire. I know. Anna, he killed Jamie. And Tom. I don't know how long I've been here." She started sobbing and tears came to my eyes.
"Why is he doing this?"
"To get back at you. For not saving him."
"He was dead when I got there! He was gone... I thought."

I don't know how long I slept, but when I woke, Allen was there. He had LeeAnna strapped to a chair a few feet in front of me. I struggled against the chains and pain shot through my whole body.
"Let her go, Allen. Your beef is with me, not my friends!" I spat at him and LeeAnna shook her head.
"I have to let him do what he wants to me, Anna. So he won't hurt you. He promised." She hung her head and Allen smiled. He grabbed a bag from a nearby table and knelt on the ground next to my friend. He dug around in the bag and I stared in horror as he brought out tools. Torture stuff. He held a scalpel in his hand.
"No! Not her! Please, Allen. I'll do whatever you want!" I screamed at him, but he kept moving toward her face. I closed my eyes and cried out as he hurt her. She screamed and pleaded him to stop. When I opened my eyes, he was biting her, draining the blood from her veins.
He picked up her lifeless body and tossed her against the wall. He came toward me, undoing the chains. He brought me to the center of the room and suspended me from the ceiling, tying my wrists together. He cut my shirt off, exposing my bra.
"I've missed you, Anna-May." He drug his finger across the skin of my back. I grimaced.
"You were dead, Allen. I couldn't save you," I whispered.
"I wasn't dead! It bit me right before you got there. I knew you were coming and I told him to bite me, to save you." He spat in my face. He grabbed a whip from the bag and my eyes widened. I shook my head.
"No. Allen, please, don't hurt me." I whimpered. I would beg if I had to. But my friend died for me, because she thought he would spare me. So I held my head high and took what he gave me. I don't know if I was there for days or weeks. But I prayed Embry and the pack would find me soon.
In the next few days, he tortured me. He starved me, whipped me, raped me, cut my face and my body. I don't know how I lived through it. I remember the last day I was there, the day Embry finally found me. Allen came down the stairs and smiled at me.
"I'm gong to change you today. Then your wolf will never love you." Tears welled in my eyes and I hung my eyes. He stood behind me, grazing my throat with his eyes. A loudly noise came and the door was busted in shards that flew through the air and landed on the floor in front of me.
Wolves bounded down the stairs and we were all silent. I couldn't bear to look at them. I was half naked, suspended in the air, all cut up. I had endured some serious shit the last few days and I was just ready to die. I opened my eyes and caught the eyes of one wolf. I knew it was Embry by his eyes.
He whimpered and jumped to attack Allen. But before he could, teeth pierced my skin. I threw my head back in pain and the venom attacked my system. I screamed and started shaking. Allen's teeth left my skin and I guess Embry finally got him. I could hear his screams as they ripped him to pieces.
Someone ran down the stairs and let me down. They were Leah's hands, I could tell. I groaned and kept shaking as she carried me. She wrapped me in a blanket. I opened my eyes slightly and she smiled a little.
"Leah..." Another wave of pain hit me and I whimpered.
"Anna May, it's gonna be okay. Carlisle is on his way. You're gonna be fine. I'm so sorry..."
And my vision faded to black and I couldn't hear anything. I couldn't open my eyes. My insides were on fire. No... I couldn't be changing into a vampire. Why didn't they suck the venom out? Why would they let this happen to me? Embry is never going to accept me like this. My mom won't, the tribe won't, the pack won't. I would be banished.
I would have to live with the Cullen's and roam the Earth alone forever... And what if they got the venom out in time? And I lived as a human? I would have scars. Oh, God.
