"I remembered some second years telling me about something tonight at the school. There's something we need to do..." he said calmly, yet with an affirmative tone. It meant business, but with a twist.
The words...second years...something we need to do...rung over your head and circled in your gut. It felt rather urgent, coming from a very collected human.
The thoughts were together, but the situation felt put together at the last minute. Especially if you were to mention the second years.
You could could only guess it to be the infamous two. The gremlin and the buzzcut.
You could only stare at him, as you saw the words in your mind float across the air.
How he sounded rather eager but very calm at the same town. Concealing his emotions lest he gave away the bigger thing at hand.
It only happened a few minutes ago, as you both had been long past it, just entering the campus quarters
But it wasn't something you were able to easily let go. It was an interesting conversation. Not even a conversation, but the one declaration that didn't scream, "Sugawara..."
Was he trying to be different, match a certain level or tone? Was he trying to change himself for some odd reason?
It didn't make sense, nor would it ever. You kept looking to him from time to time as you both made your way closer to the gym.
He kept his eyes forward, with a neutral face attached. You couldn't tell what he was thinking. On a good day as of late, you couldn't even get a solid read. He was...slowly taking in your notes and facial ways. He used them in ways that complimented the situation.
He started to use your own techniques against you. How he picked them up, and adapted them so quickly, made no sense at all.
You didn't even bother asking yourself further inquiries.
As you both stepped onto the stairs just outside, you froze as the foot was still shut infront of your face. You tried to lift your hand to turn the handle, but you didn't budge.
Something, within you, knew this wasn't supposed to happen. Anything beyond these doors was free game, almost certain to be disastrous. Not by any means did that have any correlation to the second years involved, they all had some composure to them.
The anxiety just said so. Opening that door meant mayhem could and will come of it.
Beware.
Suga looked to you, but didn't stop to check any further. He knew you'd be ok, or just suffer through. He still cared enough to take your hand into his, and held it tight.
You didn't even realize it through your efforts to keep yourself under control. You felt slight pressure in your fingers and a rub against your palm, but you didn't think it was a big thing.
Yet, it kept you grounded as you both entered the gym, to an array of boxes and who would've guessed, the two infamous second years.
Nishinoya beamed as you entered the gym. He rushed over to greet you, but noticed the contact between hands.
"So...is this a thing you decided not to tell me?!" He pointed to the interconnected hands, Suga still graced your palm with his thumb.
You stood, rather appalled and shook, until you slowly looked down to the attention, and whipped your hand clear. You hid it behind your back, and glared Nishinoya down with every ounce of composure left.
"No. Such. Thing." You said in a rather staccato tone, biting every word. Your eyes almost gave out, the rise of the water within slowly sinking before some escaped when Nishinoya turned his back.
