Excitement had been an extreme high for the last few days. As the school schedule had a 3 day weekend in the books, it had finally arrived at the most convenient time.
It had been a struggle, a battle, a rush just to qualify...and they still didn't know the turn of events. Little did they know what they anticipated just had happened.
They didn't need to speculate anymore; it was apparent at the last game.
The high had still been climbing, not yet at its peak. It was enticing to feel so weightless and powerful, as you could take on the world.
You walked to practice that same morning. Looking to the clear skies and bright sun, you thought nothing was of difference. You walked along the freshly raked grass just outside the courtyard. The leaves had been set aside in numerous small piles. The varying colours changing and mushing together with hues and shadows.
You saw, just off the distance, Suga had also been walking to the same location. He had seemed to be deep in his own mind, deep in thought and rather unaware of his surroundings. He was about to walk into several piles. His feet inches away from the beginning.
"Sugawara...head up!" You directed him, to which he looked in front of him, and noticed the obstacle that should be left to be.
He guided himself away, and started to walk closer to you, looking nowhere but to you. He had been looking over your face, and how flushed you were becoming that you had to guide such a poise and organized man from such a clumsy thing. It was almost like second-hand embarrassment.
"Thanks for that...that would've been disastrous," he thanked you, ran his call fingers through his soft and shiny hair.
"You don't say..." you tried to hold back a rather sarcastic tone. He was in a good mood, since the last game. His eyes had been facing around all the pleasant sights. Leaves fell in effortless fashion. The sun had been creeping in and out of wisp clouds. The trees had been left alone to stand still in the shadows and stand tall.
You stood across from him, looking as though it was a dream to see someone like you. At least that's how he kept envisioning you time and time again.
He couldn't get enough of you. How subtle your actions were. How effortlessly you put yourself together. How simply things in life were just that; simple things.
"Shall we head into the gym?" You started to walk away from Suga and towards the gym, only a mere 35 feet away.
He had stopped his day dreaming. His gazing into you. He nodded to your remark and followed after you into the courtyard entrance. Into the paths that lead to the gym, parking lot and courtyard.
He felt he might be following you like this more often, and more uncannily than usual. He felt in romance scenes and novels, this is how the fallen felt. This is how they acted. This is what they did. Follow what kept them from being normal. Kept tabs and regard on what drove them this crazy.
He felt he was in his own romance novel. His own romantic comedy.
There was no comedy however. No comedic aspect. The only thing remotely comedic was the laughs they both shared.
He felt romantic. He felt lethargic. He felt this wasn't real, at some point this would be so much more and less than it already was.
He followed you into the gym, where the lights were lit bright, and everyone had already been gathered in the centre of the gym. Daichi and Michimiya had been impatiently awaiting the arrival of you both.
"Welcome you guys!" Michimiya greeted you both, with a smile wider than the net that had been set up behind them, "Coach has some great news to tell us!"
