Before anyone could say anything, Ron's wolf had forced him across the room. As he grabbed Mr. Mallone by the neck, he knew his eyes were glowing by the gasp that left Mrs. Mallone's mouth. Because his wolf was in control, he could see the vague shadow of Mr. Mallone and he curled his lip back in a snarl.

In the gruff voice of his wolf, Ron said, "You are one of my best warriors and as the alpha wolf I respect that, but if you ever come into my home and growl at my mate again, I will rip you to shreds making you wish you were dead! Then I will demote you to nothing but a foot soldier!"

"Ron, stop. Please, calm down it's okay," Becca said coming up to grab his arm and rub his back.

Ron's wolf receded slightly as she calmed him. Still holding her father, he turned toward her voice and growled, "No, it isn't. He disrespected my mate and his Luna!"

"But Ron, he didn't know," Becca gently reminded him. "We didn't get to that part yet and my dad can't read your mind. Come on now, you know I'm right, sweetcheeks."

All Ron's anger left at her silly nickname for him. So, letting her father go, he stepped back and hugged her to him. Clearing his throat, he said, "Becca is my mate."

Mr. Mallone cleared his throat also and murmured, "Yes, I kind of caught that. I'm guessing that's why she didn't come home in an hour?"

"When I realized he was my mate I forgot everything else. I really am sorry, Dad," Becca softly said.

"I know, Becca. It's just you didn't come home, you didn't call, your truck was gone, and I suppose I thought the worst," Mr. Mallone admitted. "Has he marked you?"

"Yes," Becca answered.

"Then you will shift soon," Mr. Mallone told her. "Mr. Alpha, sir, I apologize for my behavior, my wife and I will go now. Becca let us know what you plan to do after you talk to your mate. I love you."

"Love you too, Dad," Becca said.

Ron felt Becca step away and figured she was hugging her mom and dad.

"Love you too, Mom."

"I love you too, Becca. I'll see you later," her mom answered.

Then they left, leaving Ron and Becca alone.

Becca sighed. "Whew, that was intense."

Ron gave her a sheepish look. "I'm sorry, Becca, for losing it with your dad. It's just that..."

"Shh..." she said placing a finger over his lips. "It's over now, no need to rehash it, instead let's do something else."

Wrapping his arms around her and pulling her close, Ron asked, "What do you want to do?"

"Hum... I know, let's dance!"

"Dance? Do you know how long it's been since I danced with a girl?" Ron asked and felt her shrug.

"It doesn't matter, all I know how to do is sway. Now, let me turn on some music," Becca said as she moved away from him again.

Soon the music of 'Thinking Out Loud' by Ed Sheeran filled the room and she was back and putting her arms around him.

Ron could almost hear the pout in her voice as she softly grumbled, "I'm too short."

Chuckling, Ron placed one hand on her bum and lifted her up while the other went around her waist. "Better?"

Becca giggled. "Yeah, now I can kiss on you while you sway to the music."

So, as they swayed, she placed kisses up and down his neck. She also played with his hair, and he closed his eyes, enjoying it all. It had been so long since anyone had touched him in any way except when fighting.
