I decided to jog the long way home for a little extra exercise, but I got a lot more than I bargained for. What a pain.
People crowded around some sort of villain.
I popped another sucker into my mouth and sighed. It didn’t seem like the heroes were doing anything but keeping the public away.
Lazyasses. I should probably leave it be. I just got back and I’m not really in the position to change into my hero costume.
Fire raged all around the monster, but none of the heroes had the right quirks to stop him. A mess of blond hair twitched near the villain’s mouth.
Wait...There’s someone in there. Why the hell isn’t anyone doing anything! My body started to lurch forward, but A flash of green beat me to the punch, sprinting past me and over the security barrier.
Another kid? ughhh…Shit’s about to go sideways. I can already feel it. My legs moved before I could even think and I was vaulting onto the scene.
The sludge monster swung at the green headed boy but I blocked his attack at the last second. The kid, who I’d now dubbed broccoli, swung his book bag at the Sludge bastard’s face, blinding his ugly ass momentarily and giving the blond a chance to breathe.
Not using a quirk, huh? “I like the way you think, broccoli.” We caught each other’s eyes for a moment before I broke it to chuck rubble right at the villain’s face, “You look like my toilet after Chipotle, fugly.” I yelled in english.
The villain recovered quickly and flung an arm at me and Broccoli. In an instant I pushed the kid to the ground, catching the brunt of the blow and flying into a building. I went splat, gushing blood.
“Oh my god. Miss, are you okay?!” Broccoli yelled from where I’d knocked him down.
Sludge had turned to finish him off when the sound of my laughing broke the tense atmosphere, “I’ll give it to you, that one actually kind of hurt.” I peeled myself out of the blood coated wall and cracked my neck, “Care for a round two?” The sensation of mending flesh rippled through my back.
“Big talk coming from a little girl drenched in her own blood.” The sludge taunted, “But sure. I promise to make your death quick.”
I smirked and stalked closer, “Cute.” He brought his hand down, crushing the ground. Unfortunately for him, getting kicked around sobered my alcoholic ass up. The instant before he struck me, I disappeared, launching myself high into the air. “But I won’t be so merciful.”
Broccoli was clawing the sludge in tears, trying to free his friend. “Kacchan, I couldn’t just stand there and watch you die!”
From above the monster I could see the whole crowd, “You’re not gonna…” I brought my kick down, slicing the sludge monster straight down the middle all the way to the concrete. “Have to!”
This isn’t gonna kill him, but I know I caught a glimpse of uncle Toshi around here somewhere.
The monster had already begun fusing back together, “I don’t have a constant form. You think a simple kick is gonna stop me, stupid kid?”
“Nah,” I smirked, tossing the blond that had broken free over my shoulder and grabbing ahold of Broccoli’s arm, “I’m just the rescue...”
Sewer turd went to swing down on us again kicking up a cloud of dust in the process. I stood still and let Broccoli push me behind him to take the blow.
‘That's irresponsible, kagami! Blah, blah, blah.’ Listen, if it was unsafe, I wouldn't have let him. But the kid deserved to feel like a hero after all this mess and I knew the hit wouldn’t land.
