I’d been running for about 6 minutes when I finally reached the school gates. I set Izuku down on the ground and watched as he swayed like a drunk man, “Sorry man! I should’ve warned you.” Grasping his wrist, I helped restore his balance.

“It’s fine.” He shook his head, “Thanks for getting me here on time. I probably would’ve been late.”

I slung an arm over his shoulder and led him towards the school, “No problem kid. We’re gonna be classmates after all.”

He smiled over at me, “You really think I have a shot?”

“Hellz yeah!” I poked his arm, “Look at these muscles. I can see how much work you put in.”

His cheeks were tinted red, “Thanks, Kagami.”

“Don’t mention it. Just do your best okay? Uncle Toshi believes in you too. You’re gonna make a great hero.”

“Yeah!” He got so pumped up, he tripped over his own foot.

Off to a great start.

His body was about to hit the ground when a cute brunette girl caught him with her quirk.

“Are you okay?” She giggled as he flailed around in the air. Carefully she helped him back into his feet. “I stopped you with my quirk. I’m sorry I didn’t ask first. But, I figured you wouldn’t mind me catching you.”

Looks like Izu has a little crush. I smirked. Watching him interact with her was amusing, but I had bigger fish to fry.

I shot him a quick wink before continuing towards the massive doors.

Ah shit, not what I need right now. I made eye contact with dad.

I forgot to call.

Why does he look more tired than usual?

“Jar, call dad.” It would look weird if I walked up to him. The earpiece materialized in my ear and started dialing.

I watched as dad picked up his phone, ”About time, kid.”

“Hey to you too sleepyhead.” I chuckled awkwardly, “I’m sorry dad. I didn’t want to wake you up when I finally got out and then I forgot.”

He sighed, “I wasn’t asleep. I’ve been having trouble sleeping recently.”

“I’ll make you special tea tonight okay?” I smiled over at him and he returned it.

“Sounds good. Oh, by the way. That shinsou kid came around looking for you when you didn’t respond to his texts.” He raised his eyebrows at me, “he’s a good kid.”

“I think so too.” I haven’t checked my phone at all the last few weeks because I left it at home. There’s always my watch, but I didn’t want to tip Tomura off.

I should probably check up on my two little gremlins. “Maybe we should go there for dinner? I’m sure Mrs. Shinsou would love to see you too.”

He nodded his head and started walking inside the building, “Depends on how well you do today.”

“Oh yeah, you get to watch.” My heartbeat picked up, “You guys haven’t seen me fight in a long time.”

There was an awkward pause, “Yup. I know Toshinori, Mic, Nemuri, and Nezu are excited.”

“What about you?”

He chuckled a little, “I’m more excited then all of them together, because I get to brag about how awesome my daughter is.”
