Marina's POV

I woke up with my arms wrapped around Liz, her expression showed peace but there's also a sign of ruin in it, the black eye was still there. I stayed with Liz for the night. It was a long night. She cried and cried, my heart breaks at the thought of when her face was soaked with her tears but I didn't ask what happened, I just stayed there, comforting her and telling I'll always be there, and I mean it.

I slowly got up and decided to make breakfast for us. Just like yesterday but with today it feels different, sadly, not in a good way. I made pancakes, eggs and bacon. I hope she likes cliché.

When I was grabbing my coffee, I heard footsteps approaching and I turned around to see Lizzy with a confused expression on her face which was cute as always, I don't know how she manages to do this. "Earth to Lizzy" I said as I waved my hand in front of her. She giggled, which makes me happy because it is so different from what I saw last night. "I'm sorry, I was just in awe, I guess" she chuckled "nobody do those things to me."

I frowned. "What do you mean?"

"Hmm... Nobody ever made breakfast for me.." She answered and sat on the chair after grabbing her coffee as well.

"Not even your boyfriend??" I asked and she looked down like she was thinking about something. Then it hits me: her love life must be what upsets her so much.

"Yeah... Not even my boyfrie- ex boyfriend" she corrected herself "we broke up yesterday" her eyes were now, filled with tears but she didn't let them roll down "he did this to me, look at my face, Marina. Only monsters are capable of doing this to someone. He was a monster. He is a monster. I'm actually glad I'm not with him anymore. He's a jerk, he can get anyone if he wants to but he better hurry because on the final he'll discover that he was born to walk alone. At first I thought he was a good person but when we started living together, he showed what he really is and I discovered that I never loved him for real."

I sat by her side. "You're right, Liz. You deserve the best..."

Now, our eyes are locked

"You deserve someone who cares about you. Someone who can shows you what happiness really is." The only thing that could make this moment sad, was the mark her ex left on her graceful face, but now, this mark is covered by my touch as I rub my thumb on her cheek.

Her gaze is hypnotic. "Marina..." She whispers and put her hand on top of mine "Show me what happiness really is."

Now, our lips are locked.
