As soon as I was out of the hallway and in the main lobby, I sighed with relief. It felt good to tell someone, anyone, about my reappearing nightmares. I was too absorbed in my thoughts to hear Charles come down the stairs, "Are you okay Nora?" I shook my head, "I'll never be. At least when I'm around other people. I don't like making friendships all that often because I'm a ticking genetic time bomb Charles. You don't know because I haven't let you into my mind. It must frustrate you severely." He took a step closer, "It doesn't frustrate me. It's nice for a change that I have a challenge reading someone's mind. I just have to trust you to tell the truth." I took a step closer to him, "How could you trust me? I can't trust anyone that much." I then realized how close he and I were as he whispered, "Because some people are worth trusting that much." I leaned in and kissed his cheek, "Thank you Charles." He smiled, "Anytime. Are you going back to bed?" I shook my head, "I'm not going to trust my subconscious to behave itself." "Me either." He whispered as I sped out of the mansion and into the gardens. As I reached the gardens, I realized what Charles had said before I left. Did he have feelings for me too? "No," I muttered to myself, "I can't risk that." "Can't risk what?" I heard a voice in my mind. It had to be Charles. "How did you get into my mind Charles?" "It's pretty easy to get past your mental barriers when your mind lies somewhere else." "Thanks for getting philosophical. It really helps." "Your sarcasm is very evident." "Of course it is. I've never had another telepath in my mind before."

I didn't hear an answer from Charles until I realized that he was standing right next to me. "You scared me." I sighed as I lightly punched his arm. He threw his hands up in defense, "Sorry! I read your mind and knew that you would come here." I rolled my eyes and sat down on one of the benches. "Is it true?" he asked as he sat down next to me. "What?" I raised an eyebrow at him. "That you have feelings for me?" he gave a sly smile. I gulped, did I WANT to have feelings for Charles but I just didn't want him to get hurt. "You won't you know." his smile disappeared, "You won't hurt me. I can help you learn to control your powers." I bit my lip, "I'm going to hate it if this mind-reading thing of yours keeps happening. And I can hurt you by the way, I could right now." He sighed, "I KNOW you won't Nora, because you and I have..." Before he could say the last word, I shot up from my spot and stared coldy into his eyes, "It'll never happen Charles! Sure, it might be fine for a while but what if we go after Shaw and he ends up taking me away or killing me? I can't let you have that emotional burden." He stood up with confidence gleaming in his eyes, "Shaw won't kill you Nora. I wouldn't allow it." "But what if you..." He broke me off by kissing me on the lips passionately. At first I didn't know what to do, but I decided to kiss back. Charles placed his hand on the small of my back as I tangled my fingers through his short hair. See why he won't hurt you Nora? I smiled, Definately.

Sorry that this was a little short! I didn't know what Nora would do after the nightmare so that's why I couldn't make the chapter longer. Thanks for reading and I'll be sure to update more today or *cough* hopefully *cough* tomorrow since I have finished with some of my major exams. Thanks and remember to star and share!
