Chapter 8

KIME's POV

MY EYES widened when i saw that message. Agad nag init ang pisnge ko sa nabasa ko.

Ako:

Haha, nice joke.

Agad kong nilagay ang phone ko sa aking purse. That fucker, kinilig ako!

Gusto niya? Sige, payag ako.

I bit my lower lip trying to stifle my laugh, baka isipin ng mga tao baliw na ako! Bumukas ang elevator, at nakita kong nasa main lobby na kami.

The employees who's inside the elevator bowed their heads, kaya awkward rin akong tumango sa kanila.

Hindi mapinta ang expression nila kaya sumunod na lang ako kay Lisa. Kabila't kanan ang mga bumabati sa akin. I was nodding at them, smiling awkwardly!

"Miss Cruz, This is the main lobby, we have facilities here and some waiting lounge..." Lisa talked while we're walking around the lobby. Tumatango-tango lang ako.

We went to the second floor, dahil andoon ang cafeteria. Onti lang ang tao ngayon, dahil hindi pa naman lunch time.

"Miss Cruz-" i cut Lisa off, she keeps calling me 'Miss Cruz'! Ang awkward lang para sa akin.

"Just call me Kime, Lisa." Ngumiti ako sa kaniya. She was hesitating at first pero tumango rin ito.

We toured around the whole company the whole morning, ng mag tanghali, i went to Mom and Dad's office dahil pinatawag nila ako, at doon daw ako kumain.

"Azrail, you'll be taking Business Ad in college, right." My Mom said, not in a question tone, but in a final tone.

Gusto kong tumutol, sabihin na gusto kong mag doktor, but i know, alam ko kung ano ang sasabihin nila.

"O-okay..." Sabi ko at yumuko. I bit my lower lip, trying not to say anything that they won't like.

"You need to graduate with honors, or for the best for you, to be a valedictorian." Nag angat ako ng tingin sa aking Ama.

I'm just...3rd in our whole batch! I can't go to the top, even i try my best. I always try my best, pero hindi na ako naalis sa pangatlo pwesto.

"I-" I didn't know what to say next, should i tell them that I'm just in 3rd place?

"You are a candidate, right?" Para akong malalagutan dahil sa tono ng boses ni Mom. Tumango ako, she nodded and started eating again.

Yes, I'm a candidate for valedictorian, but, it's really impossible! Nag aagaw pwesto ngayon sa Valedictorian ay si Alexia at Jay.

Those two are great enemies in academics, mainit ang laban sa pagitan nila.

But if I can't be the Valedictorian, i have high honors. That's great, right?

But for me, it's not great. My parents would be disappointed, and i will be very disappointed.

I went home after lunch, dahil marami ang meeting na dadaluhan ng mga magulang ko.

I was sitting on the couch, watching a Netflix series, ng mag ring ang phone ko. I picked it up, at tinignan ang caller.

Nanliit ang mata ko, why is he calling me?

Sinagot ko ito,

"Yes, anong kailangan mo?" Tanong ko kay Macsimo. Nilapag ko ang bowl na naglalaman ng popcorn.

"What should i give Tasy? Ring or Necklace?" Anito. Tumaas ang kilay ko sa tanong.

"Hm, either. Magugustuhan niya yan, kahit tae pa ibigay mo, basta galing sayo." I saide and chuckled.

True though, Macsimo chuckled and thanked me before bidding goodbye. Ayaw pa niya sabihin kung ano ang gagawin niya sa birthday ni Tasy kaya hinayaan ko na lang.

I yawned and look at the clock, damn, I've been sitting here for hours? Tumayo ako at hinimas ang pwetan ko.

I went out of the house wearing my high waisted shorts and white fitted croptop. I'll just take a walk inside our village.

I was looking around, nakita ko ang mga bench kaya nagpunta ako roon para maupo.

"Hay!" I exclaimed. Ayoko na lang umuwi dahil pagdating na naman ng mga magulang ko ay tungkol na naman sa kumpanya ang pag-uusapan namin.

It's exhausting, dahil wala naman akong interes. But I should show that I'm interested infront of them.

"Tell me your thoughts." I flinched when i heard someone talked behind me. Kumalabog ang puso ko ng maramdaman ko ang mainit niyang hininga na tumama sa aking leeg.

"A-ano ka...layo!" With shaking hands, tinulak ko si Tyren palayo sa akin. Lumayo ito at umupo sa tabi ko.

Umusog ako palayo sa kaniya. Gosh, why is he even here?! Para siyang kabute na bigla-biglang sumusulpot sa harap ko.

"Tsk, stop looking at me like that" masungit nitong sabi. I looked at him in disbelief, "Like what?!"

"Like you want to eat me!" Anito. Umirap ako sa kaniya, "Yuck, i won't even do that! So ew!" Nandidiri kong sabi.

"Waoh, diring-diri?!" Anito. He rolled his eyes at me, and so did i. Gosh, i hate his guts talaga. Mas masungit pa sa akin 'to, eh!

"I'm thinking why did an ugly old man like you reject a beautiful young lady like me." Confident kong tanong. He looked at me like I'm a crazy person.

He scoffed, "Well, I don't want the police knocking on my door, eh?" Sarkastiko nitong sabi.

"Well, yeah..." Umirap na lang ako sa huli dahil sa narealize ko. I mean yeah, he was older than me that time, and it's really weird and wrong.

But, he said that i was an embarrassment!

"I still hate you." Sabi ko at umirap sa kaniya. He just laughed sarcastically. We were silent, i was staring at the sunset, when i felt his piercing stares.

"Stop staring at me. Baka maging crush mo ako niyan?" I teased. Hinarap ko si Tyren para lalong asarin, but i was stunned when i met his brown eyes.

"Is it bad to stare at my uno, hm?" He said. Malambing ang tono nito. Tila nawalan ako ng boses, hindi ako makahanap ng sasabihin!

I should be saying sarcastic replies to him. My face heated, this is so...fuck!

"Y-yes! And I'm not...your uno!" I tried to make my voice very sarcastic, he smirked.

"You are my baby uno, love."
