ANOTHER CHANCE

Disregarding Him

We had come to Li’s house as per the plan earlier today.I was sitting in the car while Li had gone in to get her belongings. Austen hadn’t called even once which was annoying me, may I add very badly. But, I really didn’t care about him.

‘Whom are you lying to?’ My conscience asked.  ‘I’m not lying’ I said to myself and before this conversation could go on any longer I switched on the stereo. The song ‘It’s alright its okay’ by Ashley Tisdale came on and it was just the song.

There was vibration on my phone so I took it out to see a text message from an unknown number. I unlocked my phone and read the message, it said

‘Hope ur not sleeping this time. (:’ I smiled and replied, ‘Not at all. Hey by the way how did u get my numb?’ I asked thinking about it.

‘FB profile.’ was the reply.

Ya, how could I forget about it? ‘Ohhhh!! So what r u doing?’ I replied and there was an instant reply, ‘Thinking bout u…. If that doesn’t sound creepy. ;)’

I smiled at the message and replied, ‘Ahaaaannn… so someone’s trying hard on me.’

And the reply was, ‘Not yet, but is it working?’

Me: No it isn’t.

Him: Then I’ll need to try a little bit harder.

Me: Atb for that.

Him: So can I try once more? Well u did say atb.

Just then the car door opened and Li sat on the driver seat. I typed a quick message to Calvert saying, ‘Sure, try as much as you like but I won’t fall. Bye.’

“So where are we off to?” I asked her and she just shrugged. Just then my phone started ringing. I saw who the caller was and guess what, it was Austen. I just put the phone in silent thinking, ‘Oh, so you finally found some free time to call me.’ Well you couldn’t expect anything more when he calls me 6 hours after that conversation with that bitch.

I looked back at Liana who was giving me a suspicious look and then she asked, “Did you just not pick up his phone?” to which I simply nodded and said, “Don’t ask about it.” She nodded and then we agreed to grab dinner cause it was already dinner time.

We were sitting in ‘Morning to Night Diner’ which was one of the famous diners in the neighborhood.

After ordering pasta and steak we were waiting for them to arrive when Liana’s phone started ringing. “Give me a minute.” She said getting up from her seat and going out of the diner. “Ok.” I said to myself and started tapping my nails on the table while looking here and there and then my eyes fell on this someone who looked like some I knew. And it was ….. Calvert.

He turned around and our eyes met. He flashed one of his million dollar smiles and then stood up walking towards me.

He came and stood in front of me and said, “Hey, what are you doing in here?” and I couldn’t help a smile. “Well dinner and a kinda friends date.” He nodded with that smile still on his face and then gestured to the seat and asked, “May I?” I just nodded and he sat there and for once I noticed his black eyes, his black hairs complimenting his eyes and a well built body from what I could see under his dark blue buttoned shirt. He had a natural tan and his hair was all messy. He was hot overall.

‘What are you doing?’ my conscience asked me and I came back to reality.

“So you came on a friends date all alone?” he asked looking here and there. “Nope, I came with Liana; she just went to attend a call.” He nodded and said, “Oh okay! Well, I just thought I could have dinner with you.” I rolled my eyes at that one and said, “Trying once again.” To which he said, “Can’t blame a guy for trying, can you?” and I just said, “No definitely can’t.” and he smiled with a, “See.” I smiled back.
