"Well it's ......................."

Liana never waited for me to complete the answer and started talking. "When are you going to come back to school, cause Mrs.Lavanya was asking bout you and school is no fun without you." Mrs. Lavanya is my class teacher; she is very sweet and kind and understands us very well.

"Li, I don't really want to come to school. You know after all this I'm scared how others will react looking at me like this. Plus trust me; I don't have the courage to face all of this right now. I am so not used to sit like this, in one place. Let me just get used to it and then................ I will come back to school." The colour on Lianas’ face changed and she came and sat in front of me. “What do you think, that by sitting here and doing nothing will help you gain courage, then I’m sorry, that’s not goona happen. If you sit here all alone, doing nothing the pain will only disturb you even more I am not forcing you to come to school but at least try to forget it. If anything happens Jon and I will take care of it.” But then it suddenly struck her, “Wait does Jon know about your accident?????”

I just realized about Jon and in a ‘matter of fact ‘manner said, “I don’t think so........ Can you call him???” Li took out her phone from her pocket and replied “That’s the first thing we need to do. Right away.” But then “No wait, let me call him” I ordered as Li was about to touch call.

Li got a shock at the way I shouted “Are you sure. I mean, the way you just acted was like, never mind. Will you be able to talk without making him tensed, because, the way you talked to me on the phone made me think ……………………………. Anyway go ahead and call him, fast.”

“Ya right away.” I said as I picked my phone. ‘Liana, Jon and I were best friend since ummmmmm………………… yaaaa kindergarten. How could I forget about him’ I thought as the phone ringed.

“Hello, tell me El. Haven’t you missed me too early.” Ok he’s, kinda sounds annoyed .
“Ok, I’m extremely sorry but I wasn’t free for a past few day, to talk to ‘anybody’.” I said trying to be normal which I was not. “Are you free??” I asked. “Yes I’m free, and you don’t have to apologize to me, I understand, I was just a little…….. Never mind. Why did you call.”

“Could you come over, it’s important.” Please tell yes you are coming, and “Yes on my way, meet you in ten.”

“Thank you. Come fast I’m waiting. Sorry we are waiting.” I corrected seeing Liana giving me a ‘Excuse me, even I am there ‘stare.

“You mean , Liana and you ,right.” Jon asked as he laughed on the phone. ‘How did he know what Li just did? But then, we are not betties since kindergarten for nothing. Right!! “See you El.” and hung up.

A minute or two after I cancelled the call, there was a knock on my door and then entered mom, with a tray in her hand. “It’s time for medicines Ella, but first eat something.” And then she kept a plate full of mixed fruit jam sandwiches near me. Oh! After a long time my favorite. “thanks mom.” Was all I could say and then gave a grin looking at Li, as it was her favorite as well.

We both started eating the sandwiches and remembering how we used to fight for them. I just hope those days could come back. No worries, no rules and no problems.

Our talks were interrupted when we heard of a car stopping and Li went to the window and checked, “Ok get ready. Jon has come.”

After sometime there was a knock on the door. “Come in.” I said as Jon entered into the room and Li and I glanced at each other.

I wonder why it’s so difficult for Li and me to tell any of our problems to Jon. Maybe it’s because he is too protective about the two of us. He never trusts anyone easily, but when he trusts anyone he is very protective about them. I still remember the day when Li and I became friends with him and are friends till , that’s for thirteen years now. I just hope we stay like this forever.

I came back to reality when Li shook me, “Are you alright. He is waiting to listen to what happened.” I then realized that Jon was actually sitting in front of me. “What’s up with the two of you . Will anyone tell me please?????” he asked with a confused look on his face.

I started telling him everything and then. “Well it’s no big deal, I know you two are just fooling me. How can this female stay without moving and ‘jumping’? I am so not falling into your trap.” He said standing up and pointing his fingers towards me, but then Li cut him. “What the hell do you mean by that? Are you insane? Why would we lie to you on such a, serious thing? It’s the truth that she won’t be able to walk.” By the time Li finished I could see shock on Jons’ face. He came and sat in front of me and then stared at me. “Is this true.” He then asked breaking the silence, hoping that it was not the truth, which could be seen on his face. “Jon. I know it is shocking but, this is the truth.” He held my arms and asked in anger “When did this happen?”

It took courage to answer that question, as I was not sure of his reaction. “All of this happened last week and it took me time to understand the situation I was in………” but I couldn’t finish my answer and Jon started talking and trying to change the topic so that I don’t get pissed of, “Ok. Enough of this talks now. I’m starving. Hey guys what about pizza?” This is when I realized that I didn’t take my medicines and pointed towards them as Li got what I was saying and bought me the medicines. “Ok El, medicine time.”

The rest of the evening passed normally. We ate pizza, watched a movie after dad got the T.V to my room and then, Liana and Jon left. As I was alone in my room it suddenly struck me that there was a message from somebody that needed to be replied immediately. I picked up my phone and opened the message to reply but lost courage to do so. ‘Already I am too exhausted, do I need to do this RIGHT NOW. No I better get some rest first.’ I thought and then reclined on my bed to sleep. It was really a very long day. I slept comfortably after a week. Thank god everything is coming back to normal. Now I had my friends by my side to, overcome my fears and telling everything to………………………
