Chapter 156: Chaotic Event

[Kingdom of Avalon]

Somewhere around the Kingdom of Avalon, some suspicious looking people wearing a cloaked on its full body, are walking around the kingdom capital itself, of course numerous people from the civilians and the  knights were currently eyeing such suspicious group of people but since they haven't done anything at all but walk around with their peers, they then eventually disregarded their presence

Unbeknownst to the people of the capital such group were the prime leader and its vice commander of the Diabolos cult  namely Adelfried and Asmodeus , but since they were doing nothing but walk around the capital without making unnecessary attention seeker activities, they were then regarded as your normal everyday travelers by the people of the kingdom

Even thought this showcased the kingdoms peacefulness and trustfulness of the people towards the people outside their walls, Adelfried and Asmodeus on the other hand regarded such actions as nothing but foolishness of the kingdom of being wary towards any invaders that may secretly enter their kingdom

Even thought the kingdom is quite confident that it can protect its people without breaking a sweat against any threats from outside, such a type of arrogance was its fatal flaw for people who are cunning enough to take advantage of their flaw

"Asmodeus! can you see this? the people who lack of any sense wariness against any outside threats is truly a sore in my eyes, they don't even suspect that we may be planning to overthrow its current ruler and replace it under my own rule and image... they are truly naïve, foolish, and lax people, to even think that the predecessor of the Diabolos cult was defeated by such a kingdom" commented Adelfried

With a nod on his head Asmodeus then replied

"Indeed as you say! But we can't compare the past from the present, since there is a huge difference between then and now"

"Difference? what kind of difference? Is it strength? Power? People? Fear?" asks Adelfried

"It is us" answered Asmodeus

"Oh!" reacted Adelfried seemingly understanding what he meant

"With multiple strong people under our command, we could literally be able to overthrow the kingdom which is deemed impossible in the past, after all the only reason why the kingdom is so strong is because of its talented individuals who serve the kingdom, with such type of people also joining our cause, I believe that doing what seemed impossible is nothing but a moments reach"

"Indeed! what you say is correct, anyway there is no point on crying on a spilled milk, what's important is what we do in the present"

As they were talking to each other, they then came into a road which splits into two, with one way leading to the royal castle and the other leading to the whereabouts of the national treasure of the kingdom

With a slight nod of his head, Adelfried then entrusted Asmodeus to take care of the business regarding the national treasure of the kingdom, while he try to take down the king of the kingdom itself and with them planning to execute their plan thoroughly at that very moment, they then agreed to split way their and then

But before they could split ways according to their will, Merlin together with Diva and  Leonel somehow bypasses the duo as Merlin himself suddenly stopped on his tracks and looked around in his surroundings as if felt something was amiss

Feeling that something was wrong due to how Merlin was acting, Diva and Lionel then came into a stop as they glanced at him and asked

"Merlin! What's wrong?" Asked Diva

"Are their any hostile enemies around?" Asked Lionel seemingly also looking all over the place

But on the other hand even thought Merlin felt something was amiss on his surroundings and how the mana in the area seemed to be screaming, he still couldn't pin point on what exactly disturbed the mana in the area, because of that he couldn't provide an exact response towards his two companions

"I don't know, something is just amiss, but it can also be just my false feeling, I just couldn't describe such a phenomenon"

Hearing what he said and interpreting it as something serious, both Diva and Lionel then suddenly became wary of their surrounding as they just couldn't disregard Merlin's intuition, after all based on their experience throughout the time they spent with him, Merlin's bad intuition and Good Intuition is almost a 100%

Of course his intuition is can be differentiate into two categories, if he smiles while his intuition kicks in, it means that something good was going to happen, but if he looks worried while his intuition kicks in, that only means that something bad is going to happen

Worried that Merlin's intuition is not false, Lionel then said

"It's better if we tell your intuition today to Captain Kalego, he would be able to do something about it"

"He's right! if something bad is going to happen, then we need all the help we can get" added Diva

While they were worrying about such current issue in the circumstances, both Shun and Sephiria then suddenly came into view as the both of them waved towards Merlin and the co. upon seeing them

In that instant Merlin then suddenly got distracted for a bit as he called out to Shun and Sephiria

"Shun! Sephiria! What brings you two here? are you guys on a date this time or something?" said Merlin with a cheeky smile

While Sephiria blushed in red, Shun on the other hand seriously replied

"Uhm... Were planning to head and see out the national treasure the Aquasphere, and we really need Merlin to be our mediator so that we can enter, can we borrow him for a bit?"

In that instant both Diva and Lionel were quite hesitant to leave Merlin due to his bad intuition, but before they could reject the duo. Merlin then  immediately interjected in

"Well you can borrow me for a bit! while both Lionel and Diva carry on on their report to Captain Kalego, I'll be glad to become your tour guide again for the second time"

Hearing Merlins words, Lionel was shocked for a bit and even questioned if Merlin was going to be alright on his own, but his reply was sure enough to assure the both of them

"Don't worry! Nothing bad is gonna happen to me, I just need to check out the national treasure and ensure it's safety too"

With such a reply they then saw Merlin walking away together with Shun and Sephiria on the corner of the street with a smile on his face
