Chapter 182: Uphill Battle IV

[Outskirts of the Kingdom, Near the border]

After seeing that the person that Shun had somehow easily thrashed come back to life, Shun himself then immediately recognized that such magic is a type of resurrection magic. Surprisingly such a resurrection magic was activated in an instant without even a slightest hint of incantation, thus the only explanation that such magic casting was possible is perhaps the magic was prepared beforehand.

On the other hand Shun somehow felt something different from the resurrection magic that the cult member had used, it is more likely aligned the same as insurrection than just normal resurrection, Perhaps both types are mixed. Nevertheless one can't deny that such magic had something weird mixed in it.

In that instant the great sword user cult member then lounged forward as he swung down its great sword down towards Shun, due to that Shun then had no choice as he jumped back to dodge the attack as he quickly countered with a ranged electrified gunshot from his Gunblade from midair. 

Unfortunately his shots were easily blocked by the great sword, as that particular cult member then suddenly sent out a sword wave towards him with no hesitation at all. Upon seeing the attack approaching him at highspeed, Shun then used flash to blink himself away from harm and land back to the ground below.

But the moment he touched the ground with the sole of his feet, the cult member then somehow reacted to his presence as it charged towards his direction while swinging his sword sideways. With that Shun was then forced to use his Gunblade to block such attack which blew him away due to the force of the impact.

Realizing that Shun had somehow survived his charge, the cult member then smiled brightly as he gave out a comment.

"That's surprising! you actually managed to block my attack in that sudden change... what's your name?"

"... Shun..."

"I see... Shun eh... a bit weird sounding name, nevertheless a name is a name... My name is Daniel, one of the leaders of the cult, 5th from the position... you should be honored fighting against me"

"..."

"Unfortunately you have to die Shun!"

"The only one who's going to die here is you"

After saying that while Daniel charged up another charge with his own mana, Shun on the other hand summoned out his summoning book once more as he  summoned another champion, which took a toll on his stamina.

"Summon Rek'sai!!!"

Just as Daniel suddenly came before shun in a blink of an eye and swung up his great sword, Rek'sai then suddenly sprung out from the book as it parried back his swing  while countering with a swipe of its claws, causing Daniel to be shocked by the unexpected situation he find himself in.

After stabilizing his footing, Daniel then fully saw Rek'sai figure as it towered way above him for about two storied tall. Seeing such a monster he never recognized before, Daniel then simply laughed as he charged forward while praising Shun.

"So your a summoner eh? This is gonna be fun!!!"

Swinging his great sword towards Rek'sai, the latter herself then screeched in a high pitch as it swipes its claws towards him, causing her claws and his sword to collide once more. However that didn't end there as Daniel kept attacking once more while activating a spell he had prepared beforehand on his sword.

"Greater strength!!!"

Once again Rek'sai swipes her claws towards him which in turn clashes against his sword, but instead of being parried from equal force, Rek'sai herself found her strength to be suddenly overwhelmed by Daniel as her hand literally flew back by the sheer strength of the sword swing. Thus leaving a huge opening.

Taking such chance Daniel then stretched out his hand as he fired off a spell right at rek'sai opening.

"Take this! Impact!!!"

Using a spell which is a type of null magic, Daniel was able to blow away Rek'sai by its sheer mana causing the champion herself to crash between some rocks and ended up in between the crossfire of the Kingdom and the cult themselves.

Just as Daniel was able to blow Rek'sai away, Shun then suddenly appeared from his blindsight as he swung down his Gunblade straight down at the back of his neck, causing blood to splatter all around the ground. 

Surprised by such a surprise attack, Daniel then fell on his knees as he glared back towards Shun. But the moment he turned around to see Shun's face, the person himself then pointed the tip of its Gunblade right in between his brows as he gave out a condescending remark.

"You shouldn't have lost your focus on me"

With a cold expression on his face, Shun then pulled the trigger as he shot Daniel straight on his head , completely putting a hole on his brain.

With Daniel's body growing limp and falling to the ground completely dead, Shun then turned away as he seriously tries to focus his attention in aiding Merlin against his opponent. However before he could even take a step forward a sudden surge of mana rose up from Daniel's corpse as his supposedly dead body begun to move and regenerate all of his wounds.

In that moment when Daniel opened his eyes for the third time, Shun couldn't help but feel bitter as he suddenly felt like his opponent had just gotten even stronger than his two previous encounter. In this third match Shun finally felt the dread of the situation.

"This guy is like a cockroach... he just wont stay down"

While Merlin and Shun were having a hard time against their own respective opponent, Akito on the other hand is currently of a spree against his opponent as he clashed his sword against his twin blade over and over again without any stops at all

If Merlin's match is based on effective maneuvering, and Shun's battle relies more on strength, then Akito's battle on the other hand relies on speed.

As he continues to fight Akito then slowly realize that the pacing of his battle  grew faster as it continues on. If he ever slows down even for a moment's notice, he was pretty sure that he would be done in an instant, thus he cant slow down even for a millisecond.

"Quick Succession strikes!!! Speed enhancement!!! Greater reaction!!! Magic sword aura!!!"

"Tomura's Second defensive sword form Bunkatsu katto (Splitting Cut)"

"Distorted Domain!!!"

"Tomura's First defensive sword form Tamari Mizu (Still Water)"

"Illusion Strike!!!"

"Night eyes!!! Enhanced Senses!!!"

As they continuously exchanged attacks against each other, both of them slowly gained more injuries as the fight goes on. At the same time both of their bodies started heating up as they continue to attack each other in a high speed pace.

Due to their pace, their battle had expanded all over the mountain side never stopping at all. But since both of them are in their own zone, none among the two opposing group had ever tried to intervene the fight between the two of them.
