Chapter 193: Hand vs Weapon Combat

[Outskirts of the Kingdom, Near the border]

After witnessing his strike failing to land a hit or precisely stopping it from accomplishing its meaning, Lionel then quickly pulled himself away just in time to dodge Asmodeus sudden counter of his scythe. After putting a distance between them, Asmodeus himself then begun speaking out as if he found such situation as laughable.

"Why are you pulling out? Aren't you confident that you can deal with me by simply means of hand combat? Where's your confidence now?"

In face of his provocation, Lionel then replied.

"Confident? Yes you could say that i am confident that i can fight you in equal terms... however i too begun to hesitate whether i can beat you or not, after all that scythe of yours is just too dangerous... one mere strike could kill me"

"Is that so? So your wary of my weapon?"

"Pretty much, but I'm more worried on its wielder"

After he said that Lionel's body begun to glow as various buffs coming from Diva from afar permeated throughout all over his body. As soon as he received such buffs, strength then swelled within Lionel as he faced Asmodeus

"Song of Enhancement"

"Song of durability"

"Song of Restoration"

"Song of Strength"

"Song of Power"

With Diva activating five of her melody spells, Lionel then stance his body into a fighting position as grey flames erupted on both of his fist.

"Beast art: Flame fist"

Using his martial prowess to his advantage, Lionel then charged forward as he drew in a straight punch right towards Asmodeus face. On the other hand when Asmodeus saw the incoming attack that literally happened in an instant, he then reflexively raised the handle of his scythe towards his eye level as he somehow able to block Lionel's strike with his own reflex.

However the combo didn't end there as Lionel quickly spun below Asmodeus and entered his blind spot, from that area, Lionel clenched his left fist and drew out a straight punch once more targeting his opponent's face.

Unfortunately Asmodeus also saw that coming the moment Lionel went to his blind spot , thus trusting his instincts he then quickly pulled his head away in order to evade Lionel's fist, before moving in for the kill as he spun below the arm 's reach and swung up his scythe.

But the moment he did such a thing, Lionel quickly stretched out his arm as he caught the handle of the scythe  and used it to pull himself closer towards Asmodeus. With the distance between them shortening in that instant moment, Lionel then squarely punched Asmodeus face with a right hook, followed by a back hand swipe and finished it with a spin kick to the face.

The moment the kick landed squarely on its target, Asmodeus then finally let go of his hold on his scythe as he was blown away and tumbled across the ground.

When Asmodeus got disarmed, Lionel took a look at the scythe in his hand as he used all of his strength to break it apart, but before he could totally break it into pieces, his view then suddenly got drowned out as he got bombarded by numerous spells right towards his face. Just by that act alone, Asmodeus himself resorted in using ranged magic the moment he realized Lionel's intention.

Not wanting to have his scythe get destroyed, Asmodeus quickly used an instant teleportation spell to blink himself directly behind Lionel and tried his best to snitch away his precious weapon. But the moment he reached his hand out to retrieve his weapon, Lionel then quickly shook off his shock from having bombarded with magic as he kicked Asmodeus straight to his gut which was then followed up by a round house kick towards his arms.

However despite receiving the buffed kick, Asmodeus simply endured the shock as he held his ground and shoved away Lionel's attack. But the moment he shoved away Lionel's foot, Lionel himself quickly chained up0 his initial attack with a sudden kick towards his chin which stunned Asmodeus for a few seconds.

Even though Lionel's attack was landing squarely towards Asmodeus, his attacks little did to no damage at all. The reason for such a possibility is because Asmodeus himself was currently donned by the armor and defensive trait of the Aquasphere. If they wanted him to seriously be damage, they had no choice but to have their attacks pierce through its defenses.

Thus quickly snapping out of his trance, Asmodeus then glared back down towards Lionel as he swiftly dodged the incoming kick from the latter and countered back with a kick at an unavoidable angle. From that exchange, Lionel drew back from the force of the attack, which then opened up an opening for Asmodeus to easily snatch away his weapon off of his hands.

After snatching the scythe away from Lionel, Asmodeus then rotated the weapon across his arms as he chained up his kick with a quick slash up front. However the moment he retrieved his weapon, his movement also became apparent as Lionel saw through his tactics and blocked the incoming strike with his own arms.

Thankfully Diva's buff had literally protected Lionel's arm from receiving a critical injury, if it weren't for her buffs, Lionel's arm would have been sliced off in just a single strike. However due to the buffs, his arm only suffered from minor scratches and nothing more.

Nevertheless Lionel was still blown away due to the force of the attack.

The moment Lionel got blown away, Asmodeus didn't spend a single minute of delay as he ran after his opponent and swung down his the blade of his scythe towards Lionel. In that moment however, Lionel quickly readjusted his body in order to cope to the situation at hand as he deflected the blade away with a kick, followed up by a low flip and a tackle towards Asmodeus.

But Asmodeus himself just wouldn't let anyone tackle him so easily, thus when this happen, he quickly shifted the inertia towards his legs as he kicked off the ground to flip once more and threw Lionel far behind.

Taking ahold of his scythe, Asmodeus then rushed up towards Lionel as he rapidly swung about his scythe with an intention to kill him in a single swing.

At that Lionel hastily dodged some of his slashes, while countering some punches back as he held his ground against Asmodeus onslaught. Despite ending, the battle between still raged on.
