"Am I too late?!"

The door literally hit the wall and Lex almost, almost slipped. That would've made me jump up.

"Careful there!" Alice holds her arms and pulls her up to keep her in balance.

"What the hell?" She says as she steadies herself "Who the did this to you?"

"Haven't you heard? I thought word travels fast around here." The words went out clearly with sarcasm. I shifted and sat up straight. These clinic beds are just really, hard.

"Quit moving!" the nurse mutters. Maybe when you get comfortable mattresses.

"It was Jeff, that dick. I don't really understand why he has his eyes on you... He might actually have a crush on you Styles." Alice, the lady in her own stand up comedy show, grabs a glass of water and chuckles  in the corner causing Lex to laugh. He just gave me a pain to remember in a lifetime and now he has a crush on me. Wow!

"That's not funny Al." I shot her a glare. She just ends up rolling her eyes and offers me an apple. Well, they say an apple a day keeps the doctor away. While nurse continues applying betadine all over my body both of them just sat awkwardly at the side. Lexanne holding out her phone and Alice just staring at me.

It is kind of intimidating though, because I am shirtless and an old woman is rubbing something all over me, it would either be hot looking or weird.

Nah. I would take the second one, she is my bestfriend after all, she would never think of me that way.

"Jeff just group messaged 'It didn't hurt that bad. Just a regular nerd wanting an ass-whooping'" After you were lying on the ground with that surprise attack, please tell me more of your crap!

"That's alright Haz, we get how you're feeling, now if you feel any emotional..."
I feel no pain or sadness inside, I just feel angry.

Angry on him
Angry on myself.

"Cry it out Harry." Lex finishes the sentence and I'm left to ponder on Alice's words, not to be a coward. I don't even consider crying as an option anymore, and most of all I don't need sympathy anymore.

"You're done now get back to class, it's 8:35 you missed fifteen minutes of your first subject." She hands me my shirt and I slipped it on me, I thank her twice and she drove us away. Moody nurse.

We walked back in class in silence, neither of us three talked, just pure silence. Until one finally spoke, "We have only four months left Harry, don't worry it'll all be done." Lex breaks the silence and still cheers me up. She walks over my side and pats my shoulder before changing her course. As much as I want to be happy, I don't want the positive atmosphere to be around always.

I want to be able to defend myself, I want to be strong enough to save myself from him, and from any other person who tries to mess with me again. I want to change myself.

"Trust me, four months is all I need Lex." I muttered to myself as Alice and I now go in separate ways.

"Can I catch a ride with you Ally!" I had to run after her, well she walks really really fast. The driveway to school is full of cars at five, I thought they were supposed to go home by four. There was still enough time for me to check the chem lab for the new partners. And yes, my heart just leaped out of it's cage after I saw my name with... actually that sounds kind of cheesy...

"Well walk fast then." I don't know why she is in such a hurry, the rest of the students are just like chill.She wastes no second and takes long strides towards the car, yes the struggle of catching up to her is real...

Her car still has that unforgettable dent in the uppercorner of the driver's seat, that was when she almost got herself killed! She unlocked the car with no hesitation and threw her bag at the back seat as if it was her habit. Maybe it is her habit, but anyway I just did the same thing, even the inside is a mess...

"Well we're headed to the lake." So that's why... I know she is pretty attached to that place, well I am too but not as much as she is.

"I can drop you at your house first if you don't want to come with me." She gives me a nervous smile, I don't want to go home just yet. To have my mother know that I have gotten myself into fight, and to hear her drama session again? No.

"I'll come with you!" I say in a rush.

"Well then it's settled." The car roars, once she puts the keys on the ignition. This woman kind of looks badass, well she naturally acts like one yet still she does her obligations responsibly and composes herself perfectly during situations. She's someone every guy would determine to get, it's too bad my heart is just not set for my bestfriend.

"Dude, it's bad to stare." Her head goes in my direction and gave me a weirded out look. "I was not staring."

"You definitely were, what is wrong with my face?" I wasn't able to respond, she beat me to it "I know what's wrong with yours..."

Her childish laugh filling the small space, "You have bruises." Really? That wasn't as funny as it she wanted it to be.

"Haha..." I gave her the most disappointing look, and she playfully slaps my face. Like girl, this thing, is sacred. Don't even.

"Eyes on the road Alice." I remind her and she backs up a bit, ignoring me. Until I realized she is planning to speed up, sweet Lord help me get through this without having a broken bone! I have been through so much this day God, I pray I will still be able to meet my children and grandchildren.

And before you know it we went fast as lightning!
