"Wake up! Hey wake up!" soft hands shook me, and I hear heavy breathing. My head hurts. I hope my head doesn't go Humpty Dumpty! That was one great fall.
.....
.........
"What are you doing here?" I finally opened my eyes and questioned the same guy who is to be blamed for this incident. He is above me, face to face.
"Hey!" He's not really doing anything except looking at me like a fool,I bet he doesn't even know my name! I can't even push him off me, it's like something weird is going on and I can't do anything about it. Some kind of energy is also pulling me closer to him. I want it to stop! I was about to swat his face away from mine when someone interrupted.
"What are you guys doing?"
I stood up quickly and brushed dust off my clothes.
"I was just checking if she's an...." Harry trailed off before he found his tongue.
"An alien."
Oh please, Harry. That all ya got?
"Who are you?" I ask the pretty girl with a messed up outfit. She had things on her face, lipstick and powder but it's very, very messed up. Her hair is tied in pigtails and it doesn't look right. Her eyes were glassed with tears and bloodshot.
"Who am I? I don't know who I am anymore..." she sits beneath the tree and pounded on her temples rather forcefully.
"No. First thing is what are you doing here and how did that happen." Harry points at her face. You should be grateful I know your name, Harry. A person with that face shouldn't be out here alone... by just one look I'd think she'd be with a group of girls. Duh, obviously.
"My 'friends' made fun of my face and they kicked me out. They said I was too ugly." tears fell and I couldn't help but feel bad about it. "I wanted to cry alone but you guys were here." Ugly? Her eyes would be something to die for! If only if I was born with beautiful eyes like her...
I destroyed the annoying pigtails and her hair flowed down naturally. "You should take these out and wipe that thing off your face, we'll be your friends right?" I gave a warning glare at Harry. He better say yes or...
"R-right" he forced smile. It worked! My majestic powers have finally worked!
"What's your name?" I asked. The girl smiled timidly at me.
"Lexanne Twist" Lexanne, never heard of that but I'm sure she's not new.
"I'm Alice and this is Harry." I introduce as Harry came closer.
The whole afternoon was spent talking with a bunch of weirdos who I can actually call my friends. I wonder how things will workout or how many adventures I'll enjoy with them, but I hope it'll be great
[12 years later]
Change. The only constant thing in life. Some things changed between us. The four eyed monster who I once despised became my best friend. What's worse? I fell in love with him. That fall must've rebooted my brain.... it was like a centripetal force that sort of pulled us together. I may not have turned into Stephen Hawking yet I seemed to have amnesia and I was forced to believe that Harry was my savior. Including Lex, well she's sort of like an annoying tail but we all understood each other after twelve weird years.
Hooray for me surviving!
The tables have turned; when Harry used to stalk me like a complete creep now I'm the one being a stalker. I can't even go a day without him! I like his green sparkly eyes and his awkward way of talking. I really could just spend the rest of my life listening to his voice and staring into his green eyes.
Bam! "Alice! Get over him! He's a nerd." Lex interrupts my thoughts of this very unusual boy, waving a hand in front of my face annoyingly while banging on my locker repeatedly, drawing attention to us.
"I don't care." I flicked her hand away from my face without a care in the world and Lex groaned.
"You know what? It's the last year! Move on and find a guy who is actually normal."
"You're saying that to your friend Lexi." I rolled my eyes at her.
"I know. Why don't you go for those football players? They're hot." Lex gushed as she pointed at the guys hanging around with bimbos and prostitutes by the quadrangle. Hmph. Like any of those big ass players will like me. I'm clearly one of those boring ice cream-eating loners who'd rather read a book than get a date. Why don't she date them? Honestly, she's like the most gorgeous girl in campus! We are totally opposite with Lex. I'd rather eat ice cream, watch movies, get fat and play CoD than to stalk 'hot' people on Facebook, which is what Lex usually does on 'boring' days of me watching BBC Sherlock and whatever. I am a geek! Get over it Lex!
"Hey do you mind moving?"
That familiar voice makes me want to puke and stab myself multiple times. I hope she keeps her mouth shut, I bet she's going to judge the way I look or the way I dress. Anything just to make me feel bad about my self-esteem!
"Please?" Kim smiles.
No shit.
Okay. Now you guys get it. Kim, she's my nemesis. My archenemy. Three months ago she wasn't like this. She'd push me just to take her time in the locker watching her face, but now she's politely asking me to move. She will all be like 'Move bitch, get outta the way' on me before. What the hell?! I shouldn't be a one-sided freak but it's really, really weird watching the person who apparently ruined some of my high school experience change. I am not in a position to judge one's personality so all I can say is just,
WHAT THE HELL?
"Yeah." I smile back still amazed of her sudden change of mood. She must be bi-polar...
Lex and I continued to walk back to our class.
"Hey do you think she changed?" I certainly will give this bitch a chance if she will sincerely change for the better.
"I-I don't know, Lex." I stuttered and clutched my notebooks harder to my chest. She doesn't respond so I think the best move is to keep the subject away.
