Chapter 6

"Rise and shine Alice" mom sarcastically says. 

The curtains were released, the sun! Though I am half awake, I quickly rolled away from it. I need to go to school now but I don't feel like it.

"School Pervs" the headline would be embarrassing! You have to get that spot, way to go for motivation. I've been wanting to be number one ever since, and I can't be number one if I lay around here with my lazy ass. I just have to ignore these minor stuff and keep moving forward. 

I couldn't help but groan when I went out of bed, walking straight to the bathroom. I never thought high school would be this hard, the more graduation comes closer the more I look like a zombie. The cold water splashes enough to wake me up, and I showered quickly enough to give 10 minutes to go to school.

"Alice, what about breakfast?" my father turns to me, a cup of coffee in his hands. Mom raises her brows, just as I was about to leave. How can I decline when this is the only moment my parents are asking for. 

"Okay" I sigh. I guess I still got time to spare. 

"How's it going with the British guy?" my dad whispers. My fast pace turned into light chews when he brought it up.

"Harry?" what about the adorable nerd "Same old thing we study together." he nods. Since when did that sprout into his head, it feels weird. I smell something fishy around here, he better not find things out.

A glass and an empty plate later I stood up and finished breakfast, I only have 4 minutes left! I'll never make it. "I'm sorry but I'm gonna be really late." I kiss them both goodbye and took long strides on my way out.

It'll take me 5 minutes to go to school and this dang garage door will take me forever to open, it's making my feet stomp impatiently. "Alice! It's quite a day, isn't it?" drunk Bill shows up. I don't have the energy to even respond to him, I wish he is not sober today. I started the car and completely ignored him "Have a nice ride" he slurs.

...

"Callister you're late." obviously. 

"I'm sorry ma'am I thought I was gonna arrive a minute earlier from now but an old woman had to cro-" 

"I thought you were hunting for bare men." Ha.

Ugh!
The whole class jives in laughter except for Harry, and these are the moments where I forget the bigger fraction because the least is the only thing that matters. I shook off all their insulting laughs and sat on the empty seat beside him.

He drops his pen "Ally what the heck happened about the whole 'Perv' thing." for a second I thought he was gonna shove all of the subject to the garbage can but here he is laughing hysterically. "Not to be offensive... but" he breaks in soft laughter yet again. I rolled my eyes in a jokingly manner "I'll tell you later jerk."doing my best to keep both eyes in the board.

"Styles can you tell me how old are the oldest fossils on Earth." the voice made him jump in surprise "uh- " his eyes scan the blackboard for answers but unfortunately Mrs. Devin discusses so damn fast the only thing you can catch up is dust. Her brow raises further and it shows her impatience, he's smart enough to know this. His lips quiver in nervousness "3.8 Billion" I attempt to whisper but my voice ended up breaking. "Callister, I assume you know the answer?" her glare forced my feet up. I cleared my throat "3.8 Billion years ma'am." mentally crossing my fingers. 

"Take your seats." he sighs in relief before falling. "Not so smart now huh?" Harry's nostrils flare but he remains calm and pulls his chair back from Jeff. That jerk just won't stop bullying him. Jeff's foot kick his calf twice and Mrs. Devin glares back to the class, making him stop.

 Lex slurps her carton of milk annoyingly while saying "So what happened?" Just as I was going to tell her Harry shakes his head pleading not to tell. "Works for me." she shrugs. The poor guy covers his face crying shamelessly, I rub his back, comforting him. "I wish all of this will end." he whispers. Lex knows she's going to be late for her practice yet here she is squatting with us in the hallway, a proof of being a good friend. 

"Well whatever it is, we just have to accept the lemons that life throws." she encourages him. I know I'm shit at saying quotes so I remain silent and give Lexianne the throne. 

"Where is Twist?" an angry voice booms. "I'll take that as my call now guys gtg." I nod as she dismisses herself. "I'm here!" she shouts back.

"Look Harry, don't cry here like pussy." Oh god, I just said it. He tilts his head in my direction, brows furrowed in confusion. "You're not the only one suffering this kind of issue, you have to brush it off your shoulder, find something that makes you happy and eventually they'll stop doing what they're doing. Even those stupid journalist made me change my point of view about school." Im not that bad actually.

"About that. Can you explain to me what happened." a smile appeared in his face. I stood up and offered a hand. "If you stand up, go to the library and study with me, because you look like you need a walk."
