A/N: Surprise!!It was unlike anything Aubrey had ever seen before.
Of course with her line of work she was fairly accustomed to some of the modest luxuries that life had to offer. Which after coming from a working-class background, took her some time to get used to-- Especially considering she had spent most of her twenties residing in run down apartments, living off packaged food and never being on time with her bills.
But no matter how poor she was at that point, she always continued to work herself to the bone. And despite having very little, Aubrey always looked back at that period of her life rather fondly. During those years her and Sofia were either out having fun or hanging out with friends, just building memories and creating silly stories they could tell forever. Drinking, partying, laughing—enjoying life.
Plus Aubrey's work allowed her to really see the world for the first time, which was a whole other experience. A really wonderful experience. Even though most of the time when she was travelling for work she had to take numerous cheap connecting flights and stay in disgusting hotels. But Aubrey didn't care. She got to visit countries and cities she had never seen before. She got to use her spare time between meetings to site-see or enjoy and explore other cultures. On some occasions she even got to bring Sofia along with her for a free trip.
But after her many years of hard-work, hours of time spent networking and development relationships, Aubrey eventually got a name for herself, she built a prestigious reputation. Which naturally came with more high-end clients, which obviously then brought more money-- and more money meant more luxury. Fancy hotel rooms, first class flights, fine dining and social functions. The best of the best.
However, right now, standing inside the most lavishly created house, no mansion, Aubrey had ever seen, (let alone stepped foot in) she knew right then that she was well out of her league.
Her jaw very nearly hit the floor when she first arrived at Timothee's rather breathtaking LA home, but this... this was something else. This belonged to someone who earned an entire fortune. Which according to Timothee's short brief to Aubrey during the Uber ride to the party, was the actual case.
James Burrows had apparently been producing movies for over 25 years. His portfolio of films including some of the most successful franchises and award-winning films that had ever existed, most of them iconic and timeless. James had worked with some of the most infamous and talented directors and actors in Hollywood history.
He really was a big-shot producer.
Timothee also explained to Aubrey that he had met James Burrows last year at an award show and they had both really hit it off. Also adding that James was supposedly working on getting the film adaptation of Catcher in the Rye off the ground, and Timothee was desperate for a chance to audition. His excitement only spiraling further when it was recently rumoured that David Fincher was attached to direct the film.
All in all, the party they were attending was basically an excellent opportunity for Tim to network and rub shoulders with some of the big dogs of his industry, as well get further into James's good graces.
Which Tim was secretly hoping arriving with someone as charming as Aubrey would massively help his cause.
After all, Aubrey was exceptionally good with people, when she wasn't in any kind of awkward situation. She just always seemed to have a natural glow and aura about her that drew people in. She was funny, intelligent, and quick as a whip. She was effortlessly professional and as sweet as honey.
She was also fucking beautiful.
And with her job she was so used to being around people with money and colourful personalities, so Timothee knew she could handle the room.
