2 Years Later...

Day: Congratulations for today. Proud of you x

Harry couldn't stop the huge smile from lifting his face as soon as he pulled out his phone and read Aubrey's message. His eyes beaming across the screen as though he was reading the lyrics to the most beautiful love song that had ever been written.

He always heard from her when he needed it most.

She always remembered things.

Thank you. Just heading in to get my chip now. Hope all is good with you?

Harry responded swiftly, his focus still on their chat as he instantly saw that Aubrey was typing back.

Day: Yeah, all good. Still in Paris. I really love the place but this merger is taking so long, looking forward to it being over.

As soon as Aubrey mentioned being in Paris, Harry's mind automatically flicked through the images he had seen on her Instagram last night. They were nothing special. Just a few pictures Aubrey had snapped of her scenery while having breakfast at a quaint little cafe by the Eiffel tower. Some selfies of her at a restaurant and a couple of bars.

She looked gorgeous.

Unbelievably so.

His heart ached from her beauty.

But Harry didn't recognise who she was with, maybe work friends? People she had just met? Old friends? Friends of friends?

He wanted to know everything about her life.

He wanted to tell her he missed her.

But he had no right to complicate things.

However before Harry could think of what to respond, he was snapped from his thoughts when Aubrey sent another message.

Day: How are you feeling?

Harry puckered his mouth to the side as he thought about Aubrey's question.

Guess he could say that he is somewhat happy...

He's been sober 18 months today.
Work is going really well.
He hadn't been arrested recently.
Or been involved in any kind of celebrity gossip or scandal.
He feels better within himself too.
Healthier.
In mind and body.

But he also hadn't dated, kissed or fucked anyone in over 2 years.

Not like he had wanted too anyway!

With the love of his life now just a long-distance texting buddy, he thought it'd be best to focus on himself.

And he didn't want anybody else anyway, he just wanted Aubrey.

He only wanted her.

Just her.

And it's not like he hadn't seen Aubrey in person, they still met up a few times a year.
