As I walk home from school, I'm not much of a talker to others since I'm a shy kid. I live on a planet called Zon. A peaceful planet where humans and furies coexist in peace. I tried to make friends but I never have the guts to. But sometimes I go to the vacant lot to play baseball with some furry teens. They were nice enough to let me play with them but not all of them. They set up into teams and I got ready to get my bat and mitt ready. My team gets to bat first and sit on the bench while I wait for my turn. Leo the anthro dog, the pitcher on the opposing team is a very nice person to talk to since he is the one that lets me play baseball with him and his friends. Leo and I meant, when he saw me sitting alone at the park since I'm shy to play with the furs and humans that are my age. He was my first friend no matter that he's only 7 years older than me. His age is 14 years old while I'm only 7 years old.

It was finally my turn to bat but I hated when the cat anthro Druce kept telling me not to swing.

"Don't swing no-fur!" Druce shouted.

I hate it when he calls me a no-fur just because I'm a human. I didn't listen and decided to swing. Leo pitched the ball and I swung and missed.

"What did I tell you?!" Druce shouted.

"Shut up Druce!" Leo Shouted as he pitched again.

I swung and missed again.

"Of for god sake. YOU GOT NO STRIKE ZONE! DON'T SWING NO FUR!!!" Druce Shouted.

I'm starting to get frustrated but I shook it off and got ready to swing one more time. I took my stance and got ready. Leo pitched the ball and I swung so hard that I fell down in the dirt. I was disappointed in myself that I screwed up and heard Druce yelling and cursing at me. I decided to pack my stuff and headed home but then Druce yanked me close by the shirt.

"WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?" Druce shouted.

I ignored him and looked down. He shook me and shouted, "Hey I'm talking to you!"

I still ignored him and then Leo came and Druce let go of me.

"Druce, come on! It's just a game!" Leo shouted.

"Well, he doesn't listen when he plays with us!" Druce shouted.

"So what?! He's only a kid!" Leo shouted back.

Druce then stormed off back to the vacant lot and Leo helped me up.

"You okay bud?" he asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I lied as I started to walk home

"You sure?" Leo asked.

"I'm fine!" I shouted as I walked home.

Leo sighed and walked back to the vacant lot.

Later...

Audrey was working on her front garden and saw me coming. She noticed I was a little upset as I walked inside the house. I dropped my backpack and put away my baseball bat and my mitt in the hallway closet before I lay down on my bed. Audrey came and asked, "Stan? Sweetie? Are you okay?"

I didn't know what to say to her since I don't want her to worry but she is persistent since she is my mother.

"Stan, what's wrong? Please tell me." She asked as she hugged me.

"Well played some baseball with Leo and his friends today and Druce kept being mean just because I don't bat well." I explained.

"Druce again? Sweetie don't listen to him, okay? Don't let him bother you." Audrey said as she hugged me.

"Okay mom."

"And guess what? Natalya, Nika and, Dasha is coming over today and staying with us for a while since Natalya was transferred to the Zon military ."

"What?! Really?!" I asked with excitement.

"Yep, so get ready. She will be here in an hour." she said as gave a kiss on the cheek and went to the kitchen to make dinner.

Natayla was like a Godmother to me. Like she tells me cool war stories that she was in. She was one of the best veteran heros. She was a Russian soldier from Earth and did many things to help make the world a peaceful place. She knew me as I was a newborn but I kept asking her of what happened to my biological parents but she kept saying that she doesn't know since she just found me in the UNSA base in Russia. But that was actually a lie since she knew what happened to them and never wanted to tell me that my parents were killed by the Settlement Defense Front military and she never will since I know I was traumatized by it when I was a baby. Audrey adopted me since Natalya and her know each other as friends. I grew up with her and she wanted to babysit me while Audrey had to go to work.

There was a knock at the front door and I went to answer it. It was Natayla, her daughter Dasha and her daughters friend Nika. Natayla picked me up and gave me a tight bear hug and a few kisses. Dasha came in carrying their luggage inside.

"How are you doing, my sweet godson." She asked.

"I'm doing well Nata. How are you?" I asked.

"A little tired since it was a long drive." Natalya says as she puts me down.

Dasha then ran to me and gave me a deep hug as well.

"Don't forget about me little bro." Dasha says as she gave me a kiss.

"Dinner is ready!" Audrey shouted.

We all sat down at the table and we started to chow down on my mom's great cooking.
