Chapter 33: The royal demons

It was awkward of silence and cops pulling over while the drunk driver came out of his car and started drunk singing while the cops handcuffed him and puts him in the back seat of the squad car.

"Are you okay?" Ms. Lizz asked me as she finally lets me go and looks anywhere for any injuries around me.

"I'm okay." I quietly answered as I looked at the ground.

I didn't even want to look at her since my guilt returned in my heart of the incident in the classroom when my PTSD was set off. I hurt her, and I didn't mean to. I started to drop tears and they splat on the concrete.

"Stan. Please look at me." She asked.

I hesitated to do so since I didn't hear anyone around me that I was quietly crying. I hear the ringing in my ears since I felt broken, even Corvus was not inside me, he broke me permanently. I can't even smile, I can't even be happy anymore. How can I live a life where there was guilt and pain inside me even when the source was gone. Why can everyone just get along?

I felt a furry hand touching my chin and my head went up as Ms. Lizz looks at me with emotion as well. She wiped my tears, and gave me a ride home. It was silence and I didn't even want to say a word. She looked at the rear view mirror to check on me. And I was just looking out the window.

"Stan. If you were still wondering about what happened that day. I ran to your godmother yesterday at the grocery and she told me that you wouldn't forgive yourself after you accidentally hurt me in the classroom. And I'm not mad at you, because I knew you had a hard time fitting in with other students hurting you and Your PTSD. So don't please beat yourself up about it. And you were my most favorite student ever when I first saw you." Ms. Lizz explains.

"Really...?" I softly asked.

"Of course." She answers.

I smiled a little and wiped my dry tears away. She smiled back and we went back to my house. She gave my tight hug before she dropped me off and drove away. I was able to redeem myself to her but I would miss her as a teacher in my classroom. I headed inside and I noticed Dasha was napping on the couch and I bet Audrey and Rox are alone in the master bedroom and Natalya wasn't home yet. I then noticed Nika's old room light was on. I had a feeling that Nika is finally home. I ran to her room and I saw Nika unpacking her stuff and she saw me. She pulled me into a tight hug and I hugged back.

"Nika! You're finally back!" I shouted.

"Yeah. Audrey gave me a second chance and I'm sorry for putting you in danger." She said as she gave me kisses on my face. We have been having a loving moment for a while and we fell asleep easily.

The next morning...

It was 7am and Audrey got up to wake me up for school today. As she went into my room and noticed I wasn't in my room. She freaked out a little until she started to sniff my scent and went to Nika's room and saw me asleep in her arms. Audrey started giggling and said, "Okay you two time to get up."

Nika started moaning and gets up and I got up as well and looked at the clock which made me jump since it was time for school.

"Come on Nika. Time for school." Audrey said.

Later...

Ms. Mayberry gave us a math assignment, but I was starting to worry why Loona is not coming to school. After I finished my math assignment, I handed it to Ms. Mayberry.

"Hey Ms. Mayberry, I'm worried about Loona, she is not coming to school." I said with worry.

"Oh, I tell you why after class is over ok?" She asked.
