Chapter 13: Guilt

I was barely conscious and I have trouble seeing since my vision is blurry and I see blue and red lights and people running in from the front door. I couldn't understand what they were saying or doing but then I saw a couple of anthros picking me up and placing me onto a stretcher and taking me away into an ambulance and felt a poke on my neck and felt liquid going in that made me fall into a deep sleep.

I woke up in the frozen forest once more and there was a path opening up. I kept seeing a flock of black crows passing by and I saw Bruce grabbed on by tree branches and hearing Corvus snapping his fingers before vanishing. The Trees started pulling Bruce's arms and his limbs and I was horrified when the moving trees tore his whole body apart.

"Dish is best served cold on this prick but you should find and kill Druce and Jack after what they did to you." Corvus says as his voice echoes.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"I'm your self-consciousness and a way to make you strong and to prove the pricks being wrong about you." Corvus explains.

Just then Corvus grabbed on my head and I started to feel the anger and rage of my PTSD coming in my mind and kept imagining killing Druce and Jack in many horrible ways. Corvus finally lets go of my head and gets pulled back to reality. I finally woke up slowly and noticed I was in a hospital bed and saw Clara barely crying. I have a feeling she felt horrible about me getting hurt. I started to think that she was in trouble since She killed someone for the first time. She saw me awake and she came and hugged me tightly.

"Are you okay?" She asked.

"Yeah I'm okay. Just a little sore." I said.

"I'm so sorry."

"It's okay Clara, you didn't deserve to be mistreated by him." I said.

"Stan, you didn't have to. It was an adult problem and you almost got killed and luckily I saved you."

"I had too."

Clara still didn't understand I tried to help since I cared about her. Just then Audrey and Rox came into the room with worry and Audrey cried and hugged me tightly with some kisses and Rox was relieved I was alright as well.

After some explanation

"Stan, why do you always do something dangerous without telling us?!" Rox shouted.

"I thought you wouldn't believe me."

"You could've gotten killed!" Audrey shouted.

"Please don't be mad at him. It was mine fault." Clara explains.

"Well you are paying the hospital bill!" Audrey shouted.

"Now, now Audrey. Calm down." Rox said as she hugged her.

Later...

I was taken home, and I went to my room since I don't want my mom shouting while Natalya and Rox are trying to calm her down. Nika and Dasha came in to check on me and gave me some dinner since they were worried.

"Hey little man, or should I say a great caring hero." Nika said as she sat next to me and gave me a plate of Fettuccine Alfredo.

I started eating and it started to make me feel better since it tasted good.

"Hey Stan, why didn't you tell us that your trainer needed help?" Dasha asked.

"I don't know. I just can't explain it." I said.

"Stan, If it's about wanting to prove something, there is nothing wrong with asking for help." Dasha explains.

"I know." I said.

Meanwhile...

Audrey finally calmed down and headed to the bedroom to lay down while Rox and Natalya still talked about some things.

"Are you saying that Stan has had mental side effects before?" Rox asked.

"Yes since there's no doubt it's PTSD." Natalya said.

"Well we should take him to the doctor, to see what we should do about it. And what are we going to do about that damn social worker?" Rox asked.

"Don't worry. Carmelita won't tell about the incident since she knows that Stan is with a great family." Natalya says.

"Good. I'll make an appointment for Stan tomorrow for his check up." Rox said as he left.

Natalya started to have a bad feeling about the familiar mental behavior I had before while I was younger and thinking it could worsen.
