Chapter 38: For the Empress

    The blow that Johnny gave me really hurts. Why would he hit me? Adults weren't allowed to hit a child unless they were evil. Nika crouches down and picked me up from the ground.

"You okay Stan?" Nika asked.

"Yes, I'm fine." I said.

   She carried me home and I was sitting in my room hearing the adults and Nika and Dasha talking about what to do. I kept hearing my mom shouting with anger that she wanted to press charges on Johnny for assault and battery but Natalya tried to calm her down.

"Stan told me that politician was the one that ran over his friend." Nika said.

"Are you sure that you are telling the truth Nika? That's a serious accusation." Natalya warns.

"Yes, Stan would never lie to us, he saw that Johnny was the one driving, he even confronted him." Nika says.

"Oh god, he did?" Rox asked as he sighed.

"Yes, besides that politician did make a fool of himself that he might be hiding something besides running over Leo." Nika said.

"That's enough Nika, we can't start making serious accusations like that and it's out of my hands since it's up to the empress or the chairman of the council at least to investigate him. I can't be able to without Erica's permission." Natalya explains.

"Well you need to because I believe Johnny's the one that killed Leo since I believe what Stan says!" Nika says.

"Nika, calm down, we will figure something out." Dasha says.

"We better do it fast because he could get away with it." Nika says.

"I will have a talk with Erica later today. Don't worry Nika. Why don't you go check on Stan real quick?" Natalya asks as went to her office real quick.

   Later during the evening, Natalya was on her laptop trying to decrypt a usb drive that had personal SDF files to find the last remaining SDF soldier hiding on Zon. She grunts in frustration as she tries to crack a 4 digit passcode. She tried many attempts until she used some military software to hack through the security. When she activated the software it started to bypass the code but it needed take time to decrypt it.

Meanwhile...

    At city hall, Erica and Johnny were arguing and shouting in her office for quite some time and Johnny was at his limit with her. As for Erica she was furious of what he did at the city square.

"SAYING RACIAL SLURS TO OUR CITIZENS AND NOW PUNCHING A CHILD?" Erica asked with rage.

"So what? They provoked me!" Johnny shouted.

"It doesn't matter what they say since you actually do act like what they think you are."

"I'm not like what they think?! I'm trying to be patient but you and those animals are prejudiced!" He shouted.

"Do you even care about that child you just assaulted?! He's General Natalya's godchild!"

"I never liked kids anyway." Johnny says as he rolled his eyes.

"Ok, that does it! You are fired! Pack your things and leave." Erica shouted as she was about to leave.

"WHAT? YOU CAN'T FIRE ME!!"

"I did and I can! GET OUT OF HERE, RIGHT NOW!" Erica shouted as she slammed her fist on her table.

   Johnny then opened the door and left. He then stopped and decided not to go down by her. He went to the office and grabbed a crowbar from his desk drawer and headed back and waited for Erica to come out. She took a deep breath and gathered her things and opened the door and walked out until....

CLANG!!!

Johnny hit square in the face and she fell down like a sack of potatoes.

"Mars aternum." Johnny says as he dragged her back inside her office. He tied her arms up and legs and locked her in the closet.

   Luckily for him, no one is around since city hall is closed all day Sunday today. He locked the front door to make sure no one gets in, then walked in the janitor's closet and grabbed a huge bottle of cleaning chemicals that is dangerously flammable and started pouring it all over the hallway.

   Meanwhile....

  I left the house quietly since I wanted to go to city hall to see if Erica could help me to get Johnny arrested for killing my best friend. I noticed the door was locked, but I saw Johnny's and Erica's cars parked in the parking lot. I noticed something was not right, I tried to open the door but to no avail until I saw an open window. I grabbed on the ledge and pulled myself in and fell inside the hall.

"Oh... ow." I said as I walked around the lobby and went to find Erica.

    Meanwhile, Johnny finished pouring the chemicals on the floor and headed to the cafeteria and pulled the stove and disconnected the gas line. The gas started to hiss and headed back to the lobby.

  I saw Johnny coming, and hid under the front desk. I was wondering what he was up to. He then lit a match and dropped it in a puddle. The chemical ignited into a huge flame and Johnny ran out of the front door and locked it.

"Shit!" I shouted. I headed to the door and was about to leave until I noticed the Empress was still inside somewhere.

   I hesitated to leave when I saw Erica's car and I can't just leave her in here. Just then in the kitchen the flame ignited the natural gas line and part of city hall exploded into a huge inferno. I was knocked back by the explosion and crashed onto a wall.

  Meanwhile...

   Natalya came back home with some KFC chicken and went to check on me. She knocked on the door a few times and said, "Stan, sweetie! I have dinner that you will love."

   There was no response,that she slowly opened the door and noticed I was gone.

"Stan?!" She shouted with worry and looked around until she saw a note on my nightstand and she read it.

     "Nata, I went to go to city hall to see the empress since I wanted her to know that Johnny was the one that killed my best friend and didn't do the right thing. I'll be back home soon, don't worry about me. Love Stan"

   She finished reading the note, and went to her office to grab her things until she noticed that her computer was able to bypass the security on the SDF files. She looked in and was shocked by the discovery that she saw Johnny's SDF file. He was the surviving SDF soldier that hid in Zon. She immediately contacted Commander Chloe and told her to meet up at city hall.
