*Corbyn POV*"And what did I say I'd do if you lied to me again?"
I take a step back from Dante Ross, an unfortunate best friend turned trader. He tries pulling at the zip ties that hold his wrists to the wooden chair.
"Yeah, what'd boss tell you?" Zach Herron, kiss ass, suck up, whatever you wanna call it. He always tries to be in my good books, it's fucking annoying.
"Come on Besson, you've known me for years! I wouldn't go behind your back-"
The ring of a gunshot and the smoke from my pistol take over the large warehouse. As Dante's head rolls back, I spin on the heels of my dress shoes, turning to face my second in command.
"Are you going to explain why you think he was a trader now?" Jonah Marais. This man keeps my head in check, but never believes a word until he's got proof. Trust issues, I guess.
I don't need proof, I shoot to kill.
"Check his texts, we gotta change our meeting spot with Pepperson tomorrow" I grab out the phone from the back pocket of my black dress pants and throw it to Jack.
Jack Avery. Stand up guy, but not made for this business. He's too pure and sees the good in people. I felt bad at first when I molded him into the person I needed him to be, but that just seems to be the way the world works when you're in this kind of business.
"Get Roman to clean this up, I've got places to be" I reach into my pocket, pulling out my own phone to check the time. Being only midnight, I know exactly where I'm going.
"Whoa, you want his twin, to clean up the body?" Jack gulps, he's gonna wish he didn't say that.
My head snaps towards Jack and I take a step towards him. Jack quivers under my gaze as I don't break eye contact while I shove my phone back into my trousers
"You get his brother to clean it up, or I'll get him to clean up you both, got it?" I crack my knuckles against my thigh and cock my head to the side
"Got it, I'll get Roman here immediately"
Jack scurries off and I let out an inaudible chuckle. I make sure the sleeves on my white button up shirt are still rolled nicely to my elbows before grabbing my suit jacket from Jonah and I head towards the door."Where you going?" Jonah hollers
"Making sure Seavey didn't burn down my club"
~
As I arrive at the club, the small sign in the window makes me laugh, "Fuck off" in pink neon lights, Daniel definitely stole that out of my office.
The large club, named as 'Sanctuary' mostly for the irony, is a cover job. I can't exactly tell everyone the ins and outs of what really goes on in my life, so when some random police officers come knocking on my door at 3 in the morning, I've got a cover story. Although they do think my, "security cameras are broken" story is shit, because it is, but they don't have to know that.
As I walk in to the main area, Trixi is on the main stage, killing it as she always does. She's one of my best dancers, everyone knows it.
I race up the small set of stairs to the VIP area and I'm greeted loudly by Daniel behind the bar.
"What up, boss man!" Daniel Seavey. Strip club manager, royal pain in my ass. Doesn't listen, does whatever the fuck he wants, has slept with almost every dancer here, if not all of them.
"Glad to see my club in one piece" I laugh lightly, fixing my coat before resting my elbows on the bar.
I take in a quick glance at my surroundings, seeing almost every table full, with men around the main stage, throwing singles at Trixi.
