*Cassidy POV*"How dare you!" I slam my hand down on to Corbyn's black wooden desk as I stare Devonie in the eyes as she sits across from me.
"What did I do now?" She smirks as she crosses her slim arms over her white corset
"You didn't tell me that Jonah was Violet's father!" I try to keep my tone serious but the large smile that's spread across my face makes it obvious that I'm teasing.
Dev is my distraction right now, from thinking about Corbyn hunting down Beau. The thought is still on the back of my mind but I can't doubt Corbyn's abilities. It took him four days to find me at Anthony's house and they took down every man inside, it shouldn't take him long to take down Beau, and his little fucking minions.
"You didn't tell me you got married, or even engaged." Dev smirks right back and I look down to my left hand, seeing the flashy engagement ring shining in the bright lights of the office.
"Touché." I ball my left hand, pulling it off the desk and into my lap.
Dev and I stare at each other with smiles on our faces and I bubble with excitement. This is too cute! Her and Jonah have a child together, I didn't even know they were together!
"When? Where? Why! How!?" I squeal as I push myself to the edge of my seat as Dev laughs loudly
"We had sex, Cassidy. What do you mean, how?" My eyebrows lower as my lips push out
"That's not what I meant! When did you and Jonah get together? This is adorable! Maybe we can go on a double date sometime."
It's clear I've never had a normal relationship and have done normal relationship things. I've never had friends in decent enough relationships to go on any sort of double dates. Hell, I've never been on an actual date until I got together with Corbyn. Even then, our relationship is far from normal.
"Last week." She shrugs, but smiles at my confused facial expression. "We dated a long time ago, broke up before he even knew I was pregnant but we got back together recently."
Devonie and Jonah seem like they'd be a really cute couple. Her straight, light brunette hair and his wavy dark brown hair, make them almost alike, and sometimes that's good in a relationship. I always thought Jonah was sweet and innocent, and Dev was always dark and intimidating, which almost made them like an angel and a devil on your shoulders but I know now that's the opposite. Dev is definitely the angel out of the two, I think.
"I need details now;" Dev taps her long acrylic nails against her bicep. "When did you two get married?"
"The 26th." I push out a cheesy smile as I realize our one month anniversary is almost a week away, but first, we have to get through Corbyn's surgery.
Corbyns surgery is scheduled for Friday, and being a Saturday today, the nerves are racking up for me. I wish I could say I'm more nervous than Corbyn is, but that would be a lie. I know Corbyn has a lot of doubts in his mind about his surgery and I fear that he wants to cancel it. All phone calls and reminders are being sent to my phone, by Corbyn's request, because he didn't want the constant reminder of something he fears so much.
I haven't brought up the surgery in front of him because I saw his reaction when the doctor told him he needed another surgery and I heard the hesitation in his voice when he made the call to book a slot. I wish I could do something to ease the stress but nothings been helping, everything I've tried causes him so much pain, even when I'm on top.
A heavy knock comes through the office door and I push out a smile as Dev and I both look towards the door.
The smile on my face fades when it's not Corbyn who walks through the door, but TJ, an Indefinite member, who is also the backup bartender.
