L I N D S E Y

Since I've woken up this morning a small feeling in my gut won't leave. I can't wrap my head around what it means. I haven't been anywhere that I would have forgotten something, I haven't done anything wrong. Something is off about today.

"Hey, are you listening?" Rose nudges my shoulder.

"Yeah, yeah." I sigh, dropping my book into my lap as I look at Rose from across my room. "Something feels off about today."

Rose hums. "What's up?"

"I don't know," I say. "Just a stupid gut feeling, it's been here all day."

Rose snaps up an eyebrow. "Have you talked to Aaron today?"

Now that I think about it, he never did answer my text this morning. I grab my phone off of my desk and quickly use face ID to unlock in. Clicking on messenger app I look at mine and Aaron's texts.

Me: Morning, Serial Killer
Delivered

Weird, Aaron always texts me unless he's at practice or a game but he had today off for sports. "He never answered my good morning text," I say, looking back over at Rose.

She relaxes a bit. "That's probably it, I'm sure he's just caught up with the guys. Mason said something about going to Ryan's today."

It would make sense, maybe his phone died and I'm just reading into things. Then again, it's unlike him to have his phone dead so early. "Yeah, you're probably right." Is all I say before I try to distract myself with my book once again.

It's been another three hours since Rose left. 9:34PM. Aaron isn't at Ryan's, I caved and ended up asking Ryan if he was there like a clingy girlfriend but I didn't care this was too out of charter for Aaron.

Ryan says he never saw him since yesterday but to not read into it since there has been times before where Aaron never showed up to plans. I asked if Aaron would text before hand, Ryan's answer was yes.

Cheating was something that came to mind, but I threw that out of my mind as soon as I remembered who I was talking about. I reminded myself Aaron wasn't like James and would never be.

Trust was a issue with me at times after dating James and I remember times where I'd keep stuff from Rose simply because I was scared that she would hold it over my head. I know deep down she would never do something like that to me but it was hard to think that in certain moments.
