The Life Of Aaron Prescott
Journal Entry Twenty-two; March 3rd

I'm next to her in the car. Her face is pressed against the leather wheel, some blood and glass is on the dashboard. I can see red and blue lights flashing.

"Mom," I'm shaking her.

She won't wake up.

She won't breathe.

She won't move.

"Mom!"

Fire pours from the back of the car, heating my skin.

I'm not injured, I'm absolutely fine. Though, blood is covering my hands. Even when I try to wipe it away on my shirt, I look back and it's always here.

"Mom!"

Everything is bright, and I feel like I'm shaking.

"Mom, please wake up, don't leave me with him."

The fire devors me.

"Mom!"

A A R O N

Shutting Lindsey's car door, I start to walk towards the front of the library with her on my side.

I've never gone to the library myself since I was five. It was mother's day and myself, grandma and mom all came to the library since my mother and grandmother both liked to read. I never got into reading like they did, but I'll pick up a story every once in a while.

I wasn't like Lindsey with two bookcases full of books. She had given me her very own tour during one of the times I came over to her house for the project.

The bell above the door jingled as we walked into the library. There were two younger girls working behind the desk and almost no one in the library other than a mother and her son. A weird feeling tugged on my heart as I looked over at them, then I looked away.

Lindsey was already in the YA section of the library, and was reading the back of a novel called Every Other Weekend. I decided to start looking over some of the books myself.

The Maze Runner

When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his name. He's surrounded by strangers-boys whose memories are also gone.

Outside the towering stone walls that surround the Glade is a limitless, ever-changing maze. It's the only way out-and no one's ever made it through alive. Then a girl arrives. The first girl ever. And the message she delivers is terrifying.

Ace Of Spades

When two Niveus Private Academy students, Devon Richards and Chiamaka Adabayo, are selected to be part of the elite school's Senior Perfects, it looks like their year is off to an amazing start. After all, noy only does it look good on college applications, but it officially puts them in the running for valedictorian, too.

Shortly after the announcement is made, though, someone who goes by Aces begins sending anonymous text messages to reveal secrets about the two of them that turn their lives upside down and threaten every aspect of their carefully planned futures. As Aces shows no signs of stopping, what seemed like a sick prank quickly turns into a dangerous game, with all the cards stacked against them. Can Devon and Chiamaka stop Aces before things become incredibly deadly?
