Lindsey cuddles into my side, stealing more of the single blanket being shared between the both of us as the credits for Grease play.
It's been a couple long days in between getting into UCLA, Mason, Rose and Jordan all getting into schools as well as my team making it to finals which are tomorrow. We'll be playing Sacramento -of course- but we beat them before, we can beat them again.
"Stressed about the game tomorrow?" Lindsey asks, running a finger up and down my arm.
I sigh. "I'm not stressed, just nervous."
"That's okay," Lindsey says almost instantly. "Just remember that you've won against Sacramento before and I know you can do it again." Lindsey pauses. "I invited my extended family from Christmas to watch, I hope that's okay."
I smile down at her adorable, worried face. "Yes, querida. I don't mind your family watching your smoking hot boyfriend play baseball, I actually look forward to hearing Jessica scream in the crowd."
Lindsey wraps both her arms around my forearm as she presses her face against my skin. "Thank God, I don't think my dad and his family will be there though, they live in Maine if I haven't already mentioned that."
"Okay," I say. "Jesus, I've never had more supporters for me and Jordan than Jordan's parents, Ryan's family and Mason's family."
Lindsey hums, "Rose is coming too so you're getting a full house tonight."
This many people coming to watch me alone feels abnormal. Over the years I've noticed many college coaches normally come to watch the finals and since it's been us and Sacramento for the past seven years, I'm sure they love to see the good competition that comes with it.
The door opens behind us. "Hello, kids!" Colleen's voice rings out through Lindsey's house corridors.
Lindsey pulls away from me, sitting up a little so that she can look over at her mother. "Hey, mom."
"I bought a pep and cheese pizza, I hope that's okay for everyone," Colleen says, placing the box onto the counter before she runs to the fridge to grab a Pepsi bottle.
"Pizza is great, mom," Lindsey says, standing up and reaching out a hand. I take it, standing up as well before Lindsey and I walk into her kitchen.
In the short matter of time it took us to get here, Colleen has managed to fill two plates each with one slice of pizza. I sit down next to Lindsey on her kitchen island. "Thank you, Colleen."
"No problem, Aaron," Colleen smiles, picking up her own plate of pizza. "I'll just be in my office upstairs, yell if you need anything." Colleen gives her daughter a wink before she saunters off and up the stairs.
I turn to Lindsey, wide eyed. "Did you tell your mom we-"
"God no!" She cuts me off, smiling sheepishly. "She just might have seen me in your shirt with hickeys and she assumed."
I rub my hands down my face while I laugh, embarrassing as this is it is hilarious to think of Lindsey's face when her mom saw her.
"Hey!" Lindsey says, raising her voice. "It was not fun to get-" she makes quotation marks "-the talk, again."
"Really," I laugh. "Thought that it would be lovely."
Lindsey groans, pushing away from the table before she marches back off towards her room. Wait- shit.
