Damon's P.O.V

The wait was ages, we all, well me, Elena and Bonnie all sat in the waiting room, waiting for news. I told Elena and Bonnie to call Tyler, Liv, Alaric, Jo, Matt and I contemplated on whether Enzo should be here, in the end I decided against it and got the girls to call Sarah Salvatore. "I might ask the doctor to tell us what's going on, I'm getting impatient." Elena told me, I shook my head.

"They need time Elena. Let them." Elena nodded and rested her head in my shoulder.

"I still think we should've told them. They deserve to know."

"Elena, we will. Let's wait till we know the news of the baby."

"Sure."

It was now the 3rd hour we've been here, the group had joined in the waiting room. We all waited, conversation started at first, about the gender, how we thought Caroline was doing and that. It all died down.

Stefan's P.O.V

I watched as our baby was delivered slowly, I held Caroline's hand tight and didn't let go. Considering she was a vampire, she was able to push the baby out with ease. It still looked painful though. "You did it, baby, you did it." I kissed her forehead and held her tight. "Phil okay?"

"Yeah." I heard how her voice was trembling. "The baby's early."

"The baby will be fine. Just let them examine and then we'll know the gender and that they're safe." Caroline nodded into my chest and shut her eyes. "I'll just go tell the others you're okay and the baby has been born."

"Okay."

Caroline's P.O.V

I lay on the bed exhausted, but the baby was born and hopefully healthy. I shut my eyes and tried to regain strength. I felt my hunger intensify and I knew why, but I didn't at the same time. I wanted to feed badly, I needed to feed now. I watched as the nurses and midwives walked past, I smelt there blood and heard it in their veins and arteries. "Miss Forbes, are you okay?" I looked up and saw a nurse with a bundle of blankets in her hand.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Is that?"

"This is your baby-"

"Get my boyfriend and my friends. In the waiting room now." She nodded as I compelled her, she turned on her heel and walked out of the room.

Five minutes later Stefan, Damon, Elena, Bonnie, Matt, Tyler, Liv, Alaric, Jo, Sarah, and the nurse walked into the room. I smiled as my friends walked in. "Hi guys."

"Hey. How you feeling?"

"Good. I feel great." I explained, I pulled myself up into a sitting position and called the midwife.

"Well, I can tell you it's-"

"Wait, give the baby to me."

"Sure." I was handed the tiny baby, and at the sight I began to cry, Stefan stood beside me and had his hand on my shoulder,

"Look, Stefan, our baby."

"Yeah, erm, nurse, what's the gender?" Stefan asked.

"Well, I can tell you, you have a beautiful, healthy baby girl." I cried even more at the sound of the news.

"A girl Stefan. Our daughter." I kissed the tiny child's forehead and Stefan kissed mine. "Do you want to hold her?" He nodded and took the baby.

"So." Elena started, "any names?" I shook my head.

"Nope, not yet."

Stefan's P.O.V

Everyone left after an hour with the baby, we took pictures and let the nurses double check our daughters health. "I'm proud, of you Caroline."

"Thank you. I love you Stefan, I'm hungry I need to feed."

"Here." I handed her a polystyrene coffee cup, instead of coffee within it, it was blood I took from a blood bag. "That'll help."

"Hmm, thank you."

"Caroline, we need a name."

"Yeah. I have one in mind."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"What is it?"

Caroline's P.O.V

I emptied the last of the blood into my mouth then turned to face Stefan. I actually came up with this name a while back, I just didn't know how to tell him. "Well, I've wanted to suggest this for a while, but I didn't want to really. I don't know. I was thinking of Lexi." I saw Stefan's eyes look at me with a weird look.

"I know, it's crazy, but Lexi was your best friend, she helped you through your ripper phase, she has been there for you, she sacrificed herself so Damon could get back from the other side, even know he didn't, it's the thought that counts. I just thought she needs to have her memory lived on."

"I love it Caroline. Thank you." I smiled. Thank gosh he liked it.

"Then Elizabeth, for my mum, my mum is really important to me. I think our daughter should have a piece of my mum in her." Stefan nodded. "Then obviously Salvatore."

"Lexi Elizabeth Salvatore." Stefan finally said.
