The colors flew by in a blur around the young adult. He was briskly walking passed hundreds of people and passing through the streets blankly.
His thoughts consumed him as he traveled somewhere.
As he traveled nowhere.
Dabi had his hands in his pockets, his black hoddie and sweat pants concealing his figure.
Dabi wanted to kill Endeavor.
But he loathed All Might as well.
Endeavor--his father--was an extremely popular hero. He was second in the rankings, and was second to be called upon regarding major villain busts.
However that was all Endeavor was: Second Place.
Second place to All might.
And so when Endeavor found out his firstborn child had a strong fire quirk that could literally cremate villains, he trained his child to the bone.
The trained Touya past his limits.
Touya was a sick child.
Touya was a strong child.
Touya commonly caught ear and sinus infections. He commonly had ulcers and reflux. He was consistently on medicine to boost his immune system.
But Touya could almost counter every attack his father sent his way. He could remain relatively undamaged with his quirk. He could control his quirk almsot to the fullest.
But when Touya was sick, his body began to change in order to compensate. His body became weaker as it got stronger.
It was a trade in almost. A horrible trade-in.
As Touya grew older, bis body began slowly becoming less prone to infections and sicknesses, however he couldn't handle the heat of his own flames anymore.
His body focused more on fighting off infections, that it began using his body's energy that was stored to make his skin fire resistant, and used it to boost his immune system.
So by the time he was twelve, his flames had begun to burn through his skin like lava.
And it hurt.
Touya was then left in the dust as his father saw no need for the "defective" child.
Nevertheless, Touya still fought to be in his father's good graces. But it was all in vain.
By the time he was thirteen, he realized that his father was manipulative and only wanting a kid for the purpose of beating All Might. Dabi learned that when he got outcasted with his other siblings after his skin begun burning like ruber.
He was useless to the man who raised him. Just as the man was useless to all his children.
Later that year, Touya couldn't take it anymore and he ran away without looking back.
It didn't take long for Touya to begin living in alleyways and dead streets. It took even less time for Touya to be presumed dead.
And the police were hardly notified of the teen's disappearance. Endeavor didn't care. If he didn't, why should the police force?
They looked for the teen for a few weeks before calling quits.
By this time Touya had died.
And it was all Endeavor's fault.
Dabi wanted to murder Endeavor for killing Touya. The happy teenager deserved more than being treated as a tool.
A tool to beat All Might.
And gosh did Dabi hate All Might. The oaf was the driving force of Endeavor's anger and personality. Because Endeavor was sick of getting second place.
But all Endeavor amounts to is second place.
And that's always his limit.
But recently, Dabi had been questioning his decisions. Endeavor killed Touya, that was a fact. There was a major one sided fuel between Endeavor and All Might.
But once upon a time, Touya wanted to be a hero to save others.
Not to beat All Might and bring honor to his father.
At somepoint, Dabi started thinking back to being a hero. Maybe it was when he first ran away and a stranger took the teen under his wing and taught him survival skills.
Maybe it was helping patch kids up after they ran away from home and helping get them to the Police stations. If there was one thing in the world Dabi couldn't stand, it was abusive families. So he helped out the kids who needed love the most.
Maybe it was meeting Toga and helping her grow into loving herself and her quirk.
Maybe it was when he kept watch over his family and made sure they were doing alright.
Dabi was a criminal. But he only hurt other criminals.
Dabi continued with his brisk walk. All the colors around him swirling hand in hand with his thoughts.
"Hey, you in the black hoodie! Stop!" It was a booming voice, and scared multiple people walking down the same path. A few others in black hoodies hesitantly turned around to see if they were the ones being yelled at. Upon finding they weren't, they quickly shuffled away.
Dabi was too lost in the depths of memories to pay much mind to someone yelling. Afterall, many people yell on the streets.
And it is a crowded place near rush hour.
The screaming man plowed through everyone on the street to get closer to Dabi.
A civilian had spotted Dabi while he was walking, and knowing that he was a wanted villain, promptly called the cops who recruited the nearest pro hero.
Endeavor.
He was out of his usual patrol area, because Tsukauchi had sent him to search around a few cities in hopes of finding that one UA student.
But instead he found a villain--an A ranked villain from the League, no less.
Endeavor knew that an A rank villain meant he should get backup. However, he was currently very upset and he wanted to go check on his family.
So he barreled over to the villain, and places his gigantic hand on the suspicious hoodie clad adult.
The adult jerked away, covering his head and face. He stumbled back, shaking in fear.
Usually he was calm and collected, but now his eyes were wide and watery.
He was caught up in the memories of Touya. The memories of training.
The memories of feeling useless.
And suddenly he is spun around and turned face to face with the sole reason he ran away.
Dabi couldn't fight in this state. He wouldn't fight.
At this point, he just has to survive.
