It had almost been five full days since Tsukauchi sent out heros to search Nichibotsu forest. No new news was reported.

But right before the third shift change of heros, Tsukauchi got a frantic call.

It was from Kamui Woods. Tsukauchi immediately answered, even though it was five in the morning and he barely got any sleep the night before.

This call could be important.

"Detective? Detective! We found a broken and dead nomu in the forest! We suspect it crashed but there's some torn green clothing in its talons. We suspect the kid is near and are looking--" Kamui was cut off from someone talking on his side.

Tsukauchi held in a yawn, somewhat registering what was happening. Then suddenly he jerked up, and sat straight in attention.

This could be it. They could find Midoriya and being him home safely.

Suddenly a scream cut through the phone's speaker. Tsukauchi flinched.

That...did not sound good.

A loud patter of footsteps running was heard on the other side of the phone. Kamui was running towards the scream.

"WHAT? WHAT IS IT!? OH MY--" The pro hero was cut off by his own hight-pitched scream.

A thud was heard and then all sounds were muffled on Tsukauchi's end.

Did--did he really drop the phone?

Tsukauchi moved his head away from the phone only to look at it in disbelief. What on earth was happening?

He could hear a faint retching noise followed by someone freaking out.

Suddenly a rustling was heard before a "you dropped the phone, dummy" was said.

A feminine voice answered the phone this time. "Sorry bout that, once Kamui saw the scene he screamed and immediately vomited. He's still pretty new to the industry--though the scene is too gory even for a seasoned pro."

Tsukauchi was almsot scared to ask.

But he had to.

"What did you all find?" His voice cracked at the end and he cleared his throat.

"Well," the woman, who Tsukauchi was pretty sure was Ryukyu, started. "We found the missing UA student as well as the nomu what we assume took him. But you know the villain that killed Endeavor a week ago? The one that got away? Dabi or whatever his name is?"

Tsukauchi hummed a yes.

"Well he's here too...both the kid and him are...uhm they're both...deceased."

Tsukauchi felt as if an ice bucket was dropped on him. His heart felt heavy and his stomach churned. The kid was dead? Did the villain...attack him or was he dead before that?

Tsukauchi put on a straight face, this was devastating news but he had a job to finish. He needed all the facts fist.

With a tight voice, he spoke to Ryukyu, "Document the scene, take notes, pictures, and bag anything unusual. I'm going to order an autopsy and we are going to find out what happened. Send me the pictures after you take them, I want to see the scene."

"Will do." Was the short reply before the pro hero hung up.

Tsukauchi dropped his phone and slid his elbows on the desk. He grabbed his hair with his hands and tried to steady his breathing.

He needed to calm down before he dialed Aizawa. He would need the hero's help on the case--that and he needed to know the news.

The kid was dead.

Endeavor's murderer was dead.

And justice could not be served in either situation.

An emergency autopsy was ordered. It would be ready when the bodies arrived within the next hour.

Ryukyu had sent the photos of the scene, but Tsukauchi had waited until Aizawa was present before opening it. Aizawa had bust down the door after getting Tsukauchi's vague text. But upon seeing the somber face of the detective, Aizawa's heart dropped.

The detective looked up and locked eyes with the hero before whispering, "sit down." The detective broke eyecontact and moved his computer angle so both seats could look at the file.

Aizawa silently moved to the seat and complied. He held his breath, bracing for the worst. Tsukauchi's hand hovered over the latest file on the screen.

"They found him. In the forest. But--but he didn't...make it. I told them to--to send the photos but haven't--I didn't look at them yet." Tsukauchi was barely speaking above a whisper.

A lump formed in Aizawa's throat as he nodded. His eyes were still glued to the screen.

Tsukauchi clicked on the file and the full scene was put on display.

Aizawa never felt so nauseous.

Tsukauchi gagged.

Both the UA student and villain were mutilated almost beyond recognition.

Hours later, the autopsy and DNA testing came back. All the missing pieces were filled in.

The cloth was a fragment of Midoriya's hero costume. Further, the blood on the nomu's talons were a direct match to the UA student. The screeching heard after the Stain fight was indeed the nomu, who had swooped down and stolen Midoriya. Midoriya also physically sported the holes in both his shoulders from where the talons cut through his bones and muscles.

It was pieced together that the heavily injured nomu had dropped Midoriya before plummeting down.

Midoriya had died approximately eight days ago and was killed on impact, according to the autopsy.

Midoriya's body also had a few signs of quirk usage before death, his bones were shattered much like energy fractures turned into breaks. Aizawa and Recovery Girl had looked at the picture and agreed it was similar to previous injuries that happened because of his overpowered quirk.

Dabi's autopsy came back as well. He had died from bloodloss, and internal bleeding. He also had a punctured lung and a plethora of broken bones and newly burned skin. Atutopsy showed he died approximately two days ago.

Which happened to be two days after Endeavor was killed.

The closest tree that Dabi was found leaning on had a bunch of blood running and dripping down the branches. Tests came back and showed Midoriya had landed in said tree.

It was then inferred that Dabi stumbled upon the dead body and decided to move Midoriya.

He had ended up laying down with Midoriy's head on his lap, and his hand in Midoriya's hair. Both were looking up towards the treetops when found.

Blood and loose skin had been spotted around them.

Now that the full story was known, Tsukauchi and Aizawa had to figure out how to tell Inko.
