Aizawa was standing next to Tsukauchi's desk, arms resting on the piles of paperwork littering the wood. He had on his backup hero costume, as the original one was dirty from his patrol last night.
Tsukauchi was next to him, sitting in a rolly chair and setting up a secured video call. Their anonymous source had pulled through and found them someone who could help.
The whole call would be under confidentiality. No faces would be shown, but the call would ensure nothing is leaked. Both parties had agreed to use a private online forum.
They had less than ten minutes before the call started, and Tsukauchi was biting his nails.
Everything had to be perfect in order for the help to give out information.
And boy did they need information.
All their patrols had lead to dead ends. Not to mention one major pro hero was now dead. Tsukauchi, much like everyone else in Japan, had watched the fight between Endeavor and the villain Dabi. Having gathered a major in Psychology to expand his quirk knowledge, Tsukauchi was thoroughly confused.
They seemed as if they knew each other--well as if Dabi knew Endeavor and was caught off guard. Something had happened between the two, and an investigation will be needed to find out what happened behind the scenes.
That, while it's still fresh in everyone's mind, had been given to a separate detective to work out.
Tsukauchi was busy anyways.
And Aizawa...was so close to having a nervous breakdown.
It was so odd to see the man's hands shaking so frantically. His face had remained stoic but Tsukauchi could easily tell Aizawa was nervous.
Midoriya was missing.
Iida was taking it hard.
Todoroki was dealing with it harder.
And then suddenly Endeavor is killed.
Midoriya still needed to be found, the villain needed to be found as well, Aizawa was itching to check on Todoroki and make sure the teen was okay.
So many things happening within his class that Aizawa was beyond stressed.
After this, hopefully they got the insight they needed before he could run to the dorms.
Midoriya came first since he was missing. Then straight after, Todoroki's mental state needs to be assesed and a future plan needs to be established.
There was a tense silence, as Aizawa glared at the computer screen. Tsukauchi sometimes snuck glances at the shaking teacher but didn't prod.
It was a stressful time in general.
Tsukauchi looked at the digital clock on the corner of his oak desk. "Okay, one minute left. I'm going to make sure the camera is off again, you ready?"
Aizawa hummed in acknowledgment before saying a simple yes.
The detective leaned back in his seat after completing his check.
Not even thirty seconds later, a pop up showed itself on the bottom right corner of the forum. Tsukauchi quickly clicked on it and a black screen enveloped his computer.
This is the anonymous helper.
"This is the anonymous help that is recruited to help case number eighty-nine." Tsukauchi asked, saying a bunch of nonsense. His original source had said to lead into saying the code word. He only had fifty two seconds to include said word before the other side of the call hung up. "We need to ask you about the robbery down the street, a teacup was found near the entrance."
Codeword: Teacup.
There was a bristling sound before a glitchy voice was heard. "Yes this is I. I've been informed you needed my assistance on a case."
So far so good. Aizawa silently observed the interaction. He technically wasn't supposed to be there but Tsukauchi didn't have the heart to kick the hero out before the meeting started.
The anonymous source only allowed one person on the other side. But as long as they didn't know, Aizawa was safe and information can be gathered.
"Yes. It's a missing person's case. We need help locating possible whereabouts of where they could have ended up."
"Where at? I'm going to need to pull up a map. I'm sure you've come because of my ability--though it is more visual instincts than verbal in these scenarios."
Tsukauchi nodded. "Hosu was the last sighting."
"Ah okay."
A tapping ensued, filling the silence.
Aizawa had gotten up from his spot leaning on the desk and began pacing in front of Tsukauchi. He rung his hands out before placing them behind his head in an attempt to calm down.
"Give me some small details regarding the case."
The voice startled Tsukauchi and he jumped slightly in retaliation.
He caught his breath before he gasped out loud. "Well they're a young teenager who was last seen near a deadly vigilante--they had been there when the vigilante was taken down. Then they simply vanished." Tsukauchi was careful to word his sentences, as he didn't want to give too much away.
"Okay...." More tapping was heard as well as scrolling. "There is a forest three or so cities away, my brain keeps focusing on on it. Specifically eleven kilometers into the northern corner. I can't be for sure but it's suspicious how much I'm drawn to that spot."
A forest? A few cities from Hosu, no less. How on earth did Midoriya get there?
"Which forest is it?" Asked Tsukachi. He looked up to meet Aizawa's eyes.
"Nichibotsu."
"Thank yo--"
The other side of the line clicked off and Tsukauchi's screen returned to the normal forum. He quickly exited out of that, and went to a mass hero chat.
Usually he would use emails but this was urgent enough to require a cell phone groupchat.
He was kinda miffed at being cut off in the midst of thanking the anonymous helper but oh well.
"I'll have the hero's on the mass chat search the northern point of the forest, up to thirteen kilometers. Extra added to make sure everything within the suspected eleven is covered." Finishing his message to the heros, he looked up at Aizawa. "Go to your class. Call Mrs. Midoriya. Tell them that we have a small lead. I'll have the heros begin the search today. Go rest." He waved the hero off.
Aizawa sighed, walking out of the office.
At least now we have a lead.
