Chapter 61

Gabrielle's POV
I felt someone tugging on my blanket so I woke up.

"Mommy?"

I sat up.

"Hi pup! I thought you were with grandma and Taynera. Where's pop pop and daddy?"

He started pulling my hand.

"I have to get up? Hold on."

I slowly stood up. Buck started dragging me. He led me outside. My dad and Devin were playing basketball. Bucky let go of my hand then ran over to Devin and hugged his leg. He reached down on put his hand on Buck's head.

"Hey buddy. I thought you were with your grandma."

"She goed sleep."

"She went to sleep?"

"Destiny normally doesn't take naps."

My dad went inside to check on my mom and sister.

"How do you feel?"

"Empty."

He tiled his head to the side in confusion.

"Huh?"

"It-it's nothing."

I turned around and started walking away.

"This is about the baby isn't it?"

If only you knew.

I walked away.

"Gabby? Come back!"

"Mommy!"

I went to my room and sat down on my bed.

"Gab?"

I felt someone sit down next to me. My hair was moved out of my face.

"What do you mean?"

I held my stomach.

"Come talk to me while I shower."

We walked into his room. He grabbed clothes then we went into his bathroom.

"Why'd you grab clothes for me?"

"In case I have to hug you or something and you get wet."

He turned the water on. I put the toilet lid down and sat down. I kept my head down. I put my forehead on Devin's stomach. He ran his fingers through my hair. He didn't say anything. When he backed away
he started taking his clothes off.

"What do you mean you feel empty?"

"It's nothing. Forget I said anything please."

"Gabrielle Cosette..."

He used his left index finger to lift my head up.

"Love you didn't answer my question. Is this about the baby?"

I started crying.

"Darling...let me shower. I won't take forever like I usually do."

He took a quick shower then turned the water off. He got dressed then picked me up. He brought me over to his bed. Without letting me go he sat down against the headboard.

"Alright. Buck is probably playing with your sister and parents. What's wrong? What do you mean when you say you feel empty?"

"I found out I was pregnant after I wasn't. I know I should be focusing on Bucky and on school. I wanted to wait. Maybe I'm only supposed to have one pup."
