Chapter 2: Exiting

They would have been able to escape freely to the cliff without getting caught, except
Bronte was outside of Everglen. He was wanting to talk to Alden in the early morning but he caught them sneaking out. "Where do you kids think your going this early in the morning?" He asked them, "And Sophie," He said giving her a sad look, "Where's your circlet?" Keefe widened his eyes, "Those are all very good questions..." He started but was interrupted by a voice coming from behind them.

"And I'll have to answer the questions for them because they don't have time." It was
Alden. "Ah, Alden I was looking to talk to you... But then I ran into them" Bronte told Alden. Bronte usually gave Sophie weird looks and didn't really like her. He was out to destroy her. But now, he seemed friendlier to her. "Since the day of the meeting, when they had the circlet put on me" Sophie thought to herself.

"Sophie, you okay?" She heard a voice in her head say.

"Yeah, fine Fitz, It's just, Bronte's been nicer to me since I got the circlet put on my head." She replied

"Really?" Fitz said "I always imagine him hating you! Ha, but I guess we all change in some way- He just changed, A lot" He finished.

Keefe, Dex, and Biana were all staring at them. Keefe look annoyed and said, "Really?"
While Dex and Biana both said, "telepaths..." And rolled their eyes. "Come on guys it's not our faults you aren't telepaths" Fitz argued. Dex just glared at him, Keefe rolled his eyes with a smirk, and Biana just looked up at him smiling. Biana seemed to like Sophie and Fitz doing that, which Sophie thought was strange. It was like she new they liked each other, and that she thought they were cute together. While all the other boys liked her also, which she new, and they knew that she liked Fitz more than them, which made them jealous.

Alden looked at Bronte, and said, "Well, they need to go, come in and talk if you please,
but leave them be. Bronte looked with surprise, but then said, "No, I am not trying to stop them." Alden then relaxed a bit, until Bronte said, "I wish to travel with them, they need someone like me to help them." Alden then gave a stern look at Bronte. "I do not think I am allowed to permit you, I do not believe the Black Swan would be happy to see you" Alden said. "Black Swan? Ah yes, I know, and I agree with you, but I will not go that far, only help them get through here without the council seeing. I am on your side, I am sorry Sophie to have treated you with so ,ugh disrespect, you are a strong telepath, and I need know that... I am here to help, you can't get through here without my help, I assure that." Bronte explained. Alden gave a look of disagreement, then thought about it, and finally said, "Okay, you may help them get through here without being caught, but that is as far as you will go, and no further. I trust in you, you never were the one to lie." They shook heads, and Sophie felt a bit uncomfortable about it, but ,arched on ahead. The others seemed to not like this idea, but they trusted in Alden's decision.

Once they got out of the gates, they saw their were security people all over these areas,
and Bronte new exactly how to get through them, secret areas of passage they never new of. He finally leaded the safely to a cliff after a half an hour or so. "Fare well, and good luck with your journey Sophie!" He said quietly as he started to walk back. "Thanks, bye!" They all said back, and then braced themselves as they new they were about to jump off the cliff. They all held tightly together with Sophie in the middle. Slowly they made their way to the edge of the cliff counting down. At 5 seconds they all jumped of together, trying their hardest not to scream, and grab attention of the councillors. Mostly they were closing their eyes, and Sophie thought of the place to go, then out of no where they vanished like that into thin air.
