Chapter 11: Starflight

Sophie looked over and thought, okay... So, we have... Tsunami, Sunny, Glory, and Clay... Wait,what about the Black and purple one? 'Hey, Tsunami, who's that Black over there? He looks really scared.' Sophie asked. 'Oh! That's Starflight, and he is really scared, he has no idea where he is, I mean neither do we, but he can't actually see anything that's going on, he got blinded because of a volcano eruption.' Tsunami answered. 'Aww poor thing' Fitz transmitted sadly. 'And what's even more sad, is that he loves to read, so now Sunny has to read for him, or he uses special scrolls to feel the words.' Tsunami explained. 'Wow... I'm going to go interact with him.' Sophie told Tsunami. 'I'll come over for support.' Tsunami offered. 'Cool, thanks!' Sophie replied. Sophie and Fitz reached Starflight.

Sophie broke through his mind easily, it was for some reason a bit harder than Tsunami's but she didn't think much about it. As she broke in, she heard his thoughts, "Why is nobody here saying anything? Am I alone? Please somebody-' Starflight was thinking until he heard Sophie's message, 'Hello, I'm Sophie! How are you Starflight? Please don't be scared...' She transmitted as her hand gently touched his face, 'I'm an elf, apparently you refer to us and humans as 'scavengers' but there is no need to worry, I'm already friends with your buddy Tsunami!' Sophie transmitted. She heard a gentle roar come from Starflight, and then another from Tsunami. She was about to continue, until she heard Fitz say, "Sophie- problem!" Sophie turned to look at him, "what's wrong?" She asked. "I can't break through Starflights mind, it has a really strong barrier." Sophie looked at him blankly. That explained why she couldn't break into his mind as easily as Tsunami's. "Wait, but... I broke into his mind so easily, how, how could you not be able to!??" Sophie said shocked. Clay walked up behind her. Then she heard a voice from above her say, "Remember, you're the special one Foster!" It was Keefe. Sophie sighed. 'Oooo can somebody ride me? It looks cool having a smaller figure ride you!' Tsunami thought. 'Strange, I never thought I would ever think that, but it looks like everyone is doing it!' Fitz looked into Tsunami's eyes, 'I'll volunteer! Since it seems Sophie's match is Starflight, especially since she's the only one out of us 2 who can breech her mind.' He transmitted whole jumping on her back. 'Awesome!' She shouted.

Sophie still didn't understand, if Fitz could breech Tsunami's mind, why couldn't he breech Starflight's? It doesn't look like any of these dragons have special abilities like us... Obviously Tsunami can't read Sophie's or Fitz's mind, otherwise shed probable be doing that, and her mind showed no proof of blocking. She tried breaching all the others and it all showed the same exact strength as Tsunami's. 'Hey, Tsunami, dragons don't have any special abilities, do they?' She asked. 'Ahh no... I mean each dragon type has their own special ability, like I can breathe underwater, so can all other Seawings. Sand wings have poisonous tail barbs, except Sunny doesn't because she was born to a Sandwing and a Nightwing. Rainwings can change colors and they have poisonous venom. Mud wings heal in mud.' Tsunami replied. 'So, a Nightwing, is that what Starflight is?' Sophie asked. 'Yeah' Tsunami answered. 'So...' Sophie started. 'What's a Nigtwing's ability?' She asked. 'Well, they actually have no abilities, they were said to have telepathy, prophecy telling, telekinesis, or all of them. But it was a lie they made up while living in the volcano. None have ever shown any signs of actually having powers, their was a prophecy but... It wasn't actually a prophecy, it was just something 2 dragons made together, but only made it for their own benefits...' Tsunami explained shyly. 'Okay... Thanks though!' Sophie said. 'No problem!' Tsunami replied cheerfully. Sophie turned back to Starflight. That HAS to be it she thought. She understood Tsunami said they didn't have powers, but, it wa she only explanation. Right in the moment she heard a soft voice in her head, and it said, 'hello...?' Sophie new it.
