Behind Closed Doors ; Mattheo x Reader

Chapter 3

Idk if I should put a Tw for this one because there will be some swearing and light bullying but that's it.

"Hi, I'm Y/n Granger", I state kindly, receiving only a strange look in return. It stays silent for a few seconds more before I hear him question in his low husky tone, "Why are you, talking to me?". "Well... you looked lonely and... I know how awful that can feel sometimes", I say softly while looking down at my empty plate. "Go back over to your friends you filthy mudblood", he states rudely, "Haha, is that supposed to actually hurt me" I reply whilst receiving yet another strange look as if he was questioning me. "Well it doesn't, I know what you were trying to accomplish then but it obviously didn't work, they're just words, they don't mean shit to me", I state. He looks at me questioningly again but with that same look from earlier, as if he was trying to figure me out.

"What's your deal, is this a joke or a dare or something?", he questions, "No games, no tricks, no jokes, no dares, I simply just wanted to talk to you and maybe even be friends", I reply sincerely. "I don't do friends", he states coldly whilst looking down at his plate making me feel even worse for him. "So you don't have any friends at all?", I question sadly, he just looks up at me again with a no shit sherlock kind of look and states "Well what do you expect, I'm Voldemort's son", he says adding quietly thinking I wouldn't hear "Everyone's just scared of me and they don't even try to get to know me". "Well I'm not", I state with a smile receiving yet another questioning look, I add "I'm not just gonna be automatically scared of you before even trying to get to know you, I think everybody deserves a chance, and I'm not scared of you because of your last name or your family". He looks up again but sort of sadly this time showing a weakness that I already knew was there, he notices and looks down again in attempt to brush it off hoping I didn't notice. 

"Mattheo.." I start, "I know how it feels, I've gone through some.. well.. fucked up shit, and I'm definitely not proud of some of the things I've done in attempt for revenge, but everybody deserves a chance. I got mine, so I'm giving you yours". He keeps his head down but I could tell what he was feeling so I stated with a smile "You Mattheo have yourself a new friend", "No.. I don't", he replies with uncertainty in his voice and I state "Yes you do, and you don't have a choice". I could see a small smile grow on his face in his attempt to hide it, failing once again. "You should smile more Theo, it looks good on you" I say kindly, unintentionally giving him a nickname. "Theo?", he questions while looking up at me, making me realise what I said, "Yeah, your new nickname, friends have nicknames", I state trying to play it off cool. "I'm not your friend", he states with uncertainty again, "Yes you are, end of discussion" I say proudly as I get up to walk off. 

"Y/n wait", he says just as I turned around to leave, turning back around I state questioningly "Yea?", "Thankyou" he states quietly so only I could hear him. "No problem Theo, see you later, unless... you'd rather come with?" I ask in hopes that my new friend would come meet some of my other friends. "Nah maybe another day", he shakes off adding, "I think I'm gonna head back to the common room". I could tell he was lying but I didn't wanna be nosy so I just smiled and replied "Ok, all good, see you later then", "Yeah, bye" he returns with a small smile, as he walks off and I head back over to my friends.

"What happened Y/n?", Hermione questioned, "Not much, we just talked for a bit and now were friends" I reply kindly. "What?", Harry questions concernedly, "Yeah, what the bloody hell?", Ron adds, obviously both being pissed off by my choices. "Well I got my chance, so I gave him his, everyone deserves a chance, no matter what their past or family may be like, and plus he's actually pretty nice", I say happily adding "I'm gonna go back over to my table, see you later". I leave them and head back over to Enzo, Pansy and Blaise. "What in the world was that?", Enzo askes rudely before I even sat down, "Well hi to you too" I state obviously being pissed off by his words. "I'm going back to the common room", I say and walk off, "Y/n wait", Enzo says realising what he'd said. I ignored him and left. "Good job Enzo", I hear pansy state just as I walked out the doors. 

I decided that I wasn't going to go back to the common room and walked to my favourite spot of the castle. With the sun setting I hoped to get there quickly so I could see the view. The Astronomy Tower. I got there just in time to see the sun fade behind the mountains and the sky's magnificent array of colours slowly fade into a dark blue cross black. There wasn't a single cloud left in the sky by the time the stars started to show. I didn't realise how long I'd been up there because of how hypnotized I was by the amazing view. I hadn't been up there in a while but it was just as I remember it, if not better. I was sitting on the edge with my arms over the bottom railing and my legs dangling off, I'd been so infatuated by the sunset and the stars that I hadn't realised until just then. I could hear breathing. Someone was up here with me. 

I got up from where I was sitting but it was too dark to see anything so I pulled out my wand, "Lumos" I whispered as I made my way toward the sound of someone's heart beating. "Are you following me now?", a familiar voice questioned. "Theo?" I questioned back, "Took you long enough to notice", he said. "What do you mean?", I reply confused, "I've been up here since I left the Great Hall. You know at first I thought you were following me but then I noticed you looked pissed and I saw you sit down so I decided not to say anything". I was confused on how I didn't notice him earlier but I guess it makes sense, I was overthinking and didn't take note of my surroundings. Which doesn't usually happen often but it can. 

"What are you even doing up here Theo?", I question, "Well when I first got here yesterday, Dumbledore showed me around the school as all the other teachers are scared of me, well besides Snape ofcourse, I don't think he even has feelings", he replies making me laugh slightly, I notice another small smile grow on his face, so I smile back at him and he continues. "We were going around the school and he was showing me all the buildings and when we got up here the sun was setting and it was nice and very quiet, which I liked. Dumbledore said I could come here if I needed to be alone, so I took his advice and he was right", "Yeah, he told me the same thing my first day, I've been coming here ever since, it's my favourite place in the whole school", I replied while looking out at the stars. 

I turned my attention back to Theo and we made eye contact. He gave me a genuine smile and as I smiled back, I could feel the butterflies. As we looked into eachothers eyes, the world stopped, I don't know what it was but I couldn't look away. I noticed his eyes move down quickly, did he just look at my lips? I thought, whilst even more butterflies flew around my stomach. I couldn't help but look at his lips too, I glanced from his eyes to his lips and hoped he was feeling everything I was. Out of habit I licked my lips and he saw, he took a step closer to me our faces now just millimetres away. I could hear his heart racing and felt my own going up too, my breathing sped up a little as did his. The tension was unbearable... no... addictive... I needed more. 

I looked down at his lips and licked mine again but this time I bit my bottom lip with a smile. I looked back up into his eyes. The tension grew, our hearts both racing. I knew what he wanted. I don't want to give it to him. 

The only problem is... I wanted it too.

Hehe, I'm so sorry for this cliff hanger, but I'm so happy with this chapter, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Next chapter will be out tomorrow (28/11) or the next day as per usual.
