...When you come home all bruised and bloody...

WC: 558

Warnings: none

Solar's just waking up when her sights fall on you bare back facing the wardrobe, probably looking for a new change of pajamas. She didn't realize she'd fallen asleep while she waited for you to come back home. She smiled to herself as she stretched her sore limbs. "You're pretty late." She remarked. And she saw you freeze right then. She furrowed her brows at you.

"Oh... You're awake." You laughed nervously and kept your back turned to her.

Solar lifted her head off the bed and tilted her head. "You okay?" She didn't wait for you to answer before she turned the bedside lamp on and the bruises coloring your back came into her vision.

She heard you swear before you turned around and you were only dressed in undergarments which let Solar see the extent of the bruises on the expanse of your body. "Solar, I can explain-"

"Did you go out drinking?" She questioned as she got up and sat at the edge of the bed before pulling you by the waist to assess the damage properly. "Shit, did you get into a fight? What the hell? Y/N it looks like you have fractured ribs! What happened?"

You purse your lips as you felt her concerned and fussing hand poke and prod in the gentlest way possible "I- I was in a fight."

Solar looked up at you with disappointment in her eyes. "(Y/N)... What were you thinking? You can't just go to bars and-"

"It wasn't a bar fight." You cut her off. She blinked hard at you and waited for you to clarify. "I- Uhm... I might be on the news tomorrow. In fact, I've been on the news for a while now. They keep calling me some sort of vigilante."

And then you keep quiet as you let Solar process what you just said. her face goes blank when it clicks in her mind what you were trying to tell him before she gulps hard and her hold on your waist tightens unknowingly, making you wince. "Shit." her hands flew away from your skin as she retracted it and looked at them as if she'd just done the worst thing possible. "I- I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt. I would never mean to-"

"Solar," You kneeled down on your knees and grabbed her hands as you calmed her down. "You didn't. I should be the one apologizing. This isn't how you should've found out. I should've told you. I know I trust you enough with this and you deserve to know every part of me. You try so hard to do that for me."

Solar shook her head, not accepting your apology when you had no fault in this. "No. None of us should apologize. Let's just... Let's get you cleaned up. I'll call in at your work for you because you need to heal as much as possible. I'm guessing we can't go to the hospital?" She asks. One look at your pitiful look and she nods. "Okay. Then we do this my way. You're going to tell me all that you can. Is that okay?"

"It's more than okay." You smiled at her and placed a kiss on her lips. "Now, uhm, can you lift me off the ground? I think my legs are too sore to do so."
