A/N: Hello beautiful people, this story has taken me a while to write, but I finally finished it, so I thought I might as well publish it. Anyways, I just wanna say that some of the chapters can be quite triggering, but I promise I'll put warnings on the chapters that needs it.
Trigger Warning: Self harm.

Ash's POV
I want it to stop. I want the pain to go away.
The tears were streaming down my face, as my clothes got soaked. The feeling of the cold water streaming down over me didn't bother me. Heck, it almost felt good. I leaned my head against the cold shower wall and let the water flow over my face, mixing itself with the tears. It was very likely that I would get sick from sitting there, but I couldn't care less. The sound of the shower was blocking out the sound of my sobs.
A small stream of blood ran down my arm and dripped onto the floor. My eyes followed as the blood made its way into the drain. I stuck my arm under the faucet to rinse the blood off and hissed in pain, quickly pulling my arm back, feeling even more tears make their way down my face.
"Hey Ash, I'm gonna- What the hell? Are you okay? What happened?" Emily, my roommate, practically yelled and ran over to me, turning the shower off and crouching down next to me. I hadn't heard her come home, so to say I was startled would be an understatement. I didn't know what to say, so I just let the tears fall freely, as she pulled me to my feet and wrapped a towel around me.
"Shh, it's okay. I'm right here." she said softly and dried me off a little. "Let's get you into some dry clothes, yeah?" I could only nod in response, as I felt myself start to shake. Emily helped me into some dry clothes and dried my hair, constantly making sure I was okay.
Emily Junk has alway been my best friend. We grew up together, living next door to each other. We had spent every waking moment together and now we went to the same university, and we of course shared a dorm. Emily is the most caring person I know, and never once have I doubted if she would be there for me. No matter what kinda shit is going on with me, Emily has stuck by my side and that didn't change now. I owe her everything and I intend to always be there for her, just like she is for me.
-
"I'm sorry, Em." I said quietly and pulled my fluffy blanket further up, covering my body completely. I glanced up at her, seeing the way the carefully wrapped the cut on my arm in bandage.
"Don't worry about it." Emily replied with a soft smile, as she finished with the bandage, before getting off the bed. She grabbed her phone and gave me a soft smile, before looking though it.
"What are you doing?" I asked confused, making her look back up at me.
"I'm just calling Beca to let her know that I won't be coming today." she replied and looked back down at her phone.
"No! You can't miss rehearsal; Aubrey would kill you." I protested and sat up straight. Emily gave me a look, before looking back at her phone. "Em, listen to me! If you miss rehearsal, Aubrey will kick you out of The Bellas." I said and got off the bed, snatching the phone from her.
"She can't, I'm a legacy." Emily replied and took her phone back.
"You and I both know that she won't give a shit about that. Please Em, go to the rehearsal. If you don't and end up getting kicked out, I'll hate myself for it." I spoke and locked eyes with her.
I had never actually met Aubrey Posen myself, but from what I had heard from Emily and what I had seen from a distance, I knew that she was a very strict person. Aubrey liked structure and punctuality, so if you were to meet up with her for anything, you'd better be on time.
"Fine, I'll go, but you're coming with me." Emily finally said, taking me by surprise.
"Why? I can't go to a Bellas rehearsal. I'm not a Bella." I said, my brows knitted together in confusion.
"I don't care. Now, come on, we can't be late." Emily replied and dragged me out the door. "Don't worry, I'll explain to Aubrey why." she continued, as we made our way through the halls.
"No! You can't tell her why.. please. I don't want people to know." I said in a scared tone.
"I won't, I promise. I'll just tell her that you needed to not be alone, okay?" Em reassured me, as we stopped in front of the rehearsal room. I gave her a small nod, before she opened the door, leading me inside.
-
"Emily, there you are. We were starting to think you wouldn't make it." A girl with red hair and beautiful blue eyes came up to us, flashing Emily a smile.
"There's still five minutes till we start.." Emily said with a small smile, making the redhead smirk.
"True, but you usually get here earlier. Well, as long as you're here." The redhead said with a sweet smile. She was truly beautiful.
"Sorry, Chlo, something came up that I had to take care of.. Do you think Aubrey would mind if Ash sat and watched as we rehearsed?" Em asked, nodding her head towards me.
"I suppose not. I'm Chloe." The redhead said with that award-winning smile and shook my hand. "I'll go talk to Bree." she continued and winked at us, before making her way over to a beautiful blonde. Even though I had seen Aubrey from afar before, I was still shocked by how beautiful she truly was.
I watched as Chloe talked to Aubrey, who then looked up and locked eyes with me for a split second, before turning her attention back to the redhead. Suddenly a small brunette came up to Em and I.
"Hey Legacy, who's your friend?" The brunette asked and looked at me.
"This is Ash, my best friend. Ash, this is Beca." Emily introduced us and we shook each other's hand.
"Nice to meet you." Beca said with a friendly smile.
"Likewise." I replied, just as Chloe and Aubrey came over to us. Chloe had a smile painted across her face, and Aubrey.. was hard to read.
"Listen Emily, we can't really have anyone here who isn't a Bella. Even if that person is a close friend." Aubrey said, eyeing me, making me insanely nervous.
"But Aubrey-" Emily was about to start her classic begging, but I cut her off.
"That's okay, I'll just wait in the dorm. I'll see you later, Em." I said with a smile and turned towards the door.
"Wait," Chloe said and grabbed a hold of my arm, making me flinch due to the fresh cut. Luckily my hoodie covered it up, but it still hurt. "what if she auditioned?" the redhead continued and let go of my arm, making me turn back towards them.
"I beg your pardon?" I spoke with my eyebrows raised.
"You could audition and become a Bella." Chloe said with hopeful eyes.
"I can't." I replied, causing Chloe's face to fall.
"Maybe you should.. Trust me, Chloe doesn't give up easily. I speak from experience." Beca piped in, making the redhead smirk.
"Come on, Ash, you sing beautifully." Emily added with a bright smile. I shifted my gaze to Aubrey, who was watching me intensely.
"I can't.. I'm not comfortable with performing in front of other people." I explained.
"We don't judge here." Chloe said with a soft smile.
"We sorta do.." Beca mumbled, earning a glare from both Chloe and Aubrey.
"Listen sweetie, if you audition, I promise not to bug you about it again. And if you ask Beca, I'm sure she would advise you to do it." Chloe said and glanced at Beca, who rolled her eyes playfully. I looked at Aubrey, wondering why she hadn't said anything.
"Like I said, I don't sing in front of people. Sorry, guys, but I think I'll leave now." I replied and turned towards the door once more. "Have a good rehearsal." I said with a smile and left the room, making my way back to the dorms.
