Ash's POV
The next few days, my three captains kept a very close eye on me. No matter what I did or where I went, they always made sure that either one of them went with me, or one of the other Bellas did. Don't get me wrong, I liked that they wanted me to be safe, but sometimes it could be a little much. A woman needs her time alone.

I had reached my limit and I needed some time to myself. Right now. It was an early Saturday morning, not even Aubrey had gotten up yet, which was perfect. I snuck my way downstairs, careful not to make any noise. After slipping on my converse, I grabbed my leather jacket and made my way out the kitchen door.

The cold morning breeze was so calming, and I felt myself start to relax. I stuffed my hands in my pockets and started walking. I made my way down to the lake and sat down in the grass, watching as the water flowed along. The sound of birds chirping filled my ears, as I closed my eyes, feeling more and more relaxed.

I knew that the girls were gonna worry, but I just couldn't deal with it anymore. Being watched 24/7 is not as nice as it sounds, even when the women watching you are gorgeous and look like literal angels. They had gotten so possessive and overprotective and I didn't understand why. I understood that they didn't want me to get hurt again, but it had become extreme.

I was snapped out of my thoughts, by the sound of my phone ringing. I pulled it out of my pocket and checked the caller-id. Chloe. Of course. I knew that if I didn't answer, she would panic even more, so I let out a sigh and pressed accept. "Hey Chlo." I said, waiting for the redhead to freak out at me.

"Thank goodness, Ash. Where are you?" She sounded so worried. I gotta admit that I felt bad for her, but I had to get out and be by myself for a little while.

"I went on a walk." I replied, hoping to not upset the girl further.

"At six o'clock in the morning?!" The shakiness in her voice made my heart break.

"Yeah.." I said softly, feeling bad for worrying one of my favorite people.

"Why didn't you say anything?" The redhead spoke quietly, but I could still hear the sadness in her tone.

"I'm sorry, Chlo. I just needed a minute." I explained, hoping she would understand.

"You scared me.. us.." That sentence broke my heart even more, so I quickly got on my feet and started walking back to the house.

"I didn't mean to.. I'm on my way back, don't worry." I said, causing Chloe to let out a sigh of relief. Just then I heard voices in the background, and there was no doubt it was Aubrey and Beca. It sounded like Chloe was about to say something, but when I finally heard someone talk it wasn't her.

"Ash?" Aubrey's voice was full of concern.

"Yeah?" I said, kinda scared that the blonde would be mad at me.

"Are you okay?" The blonde spoke quietly, her voice breaking slightly at the end.

"Yeah, I'm okay. I'm on my way home." I replied and I could hear her sigh in relief, just like Chloe had done not that long before.

"Thank goodness." Bree said, as I walked down the street to our house. Just as I was about to say something, someone spoke up on the other end.

"Where are you?" Beca asked and she honestly sounded a bit mad. Well, I'm officially fucked.

"I'm at the front door-" was all I got to say, before the front door flew open, revealing my three captains. Chloe looked like she was about to burst out crying, as she wrapped me in the tightest hug. Beca looked about ready to kill me right then and there. Aubrey was a mix of multiple different emotions, relief, sadness, anger and what looked like disappointment.

"Thank goodness, you're okay. We were worried sick." Chloe mumbled into the crook of my neck.

"I'm sorry.. I just-" I tried to explain, but was quickly cut off.

"Don't! You had absolutely no right to leave, without saying anything! Do you have any idea what we went through?! We thought something happened to you!" Beca practically screamed at me, as Chloe slowly pulled away.

"Come on, Bec, let her explain." Aubrey tried to calm the feisty brunette.

"NO! I don't wanna hear it!" Beca snapped and glared at me, before making her way back into the house.

I felt the tears build up and it had all become too much, so I just let them fall. "Shh, sweetie, it's gonna be okay." Chloe spoke softly and pulled me into her embrace.

"No, she h-hates me-" I sobbed into the redhead's shoulder.

"No, she doesn't. Bec was just worried, and she deals with worry and sadness in her own way. Don't worry, babe, she'll come around." Aubrey said and stroked my back softly.

"Come on, sweetie, we can talk to her together." Chloe said and pulled back to look me in the eyes. I gave her a small nod, causing her to smile softly at me while she wiped my tears away with her thumbs.
