New York Institute
Clary, now standing in between Jace and Simon exhales as Simon worriedly says, "Clary, Clary, come on. We gotta go."
She takes his hands in hers and softly says, "Simon, I think Jace can help us."
"What?"
Jace rolls his eyes and walks away from the two, back towards the institute. Clary follows behind him and Simon follows behind Clary, "Come on."
"How do we know this Mick Jagger-looking guy is even gonna try-"
Oh, how close was Jace to yeeting himself or the duo off a building, "Mundane, we do not have the time."
"Come on, Simon. Let's go."
Jace, Clary and Simon walk into the Institute disguised as a church. It looks dark and abandoned. Jace pulls his leather jacket's right sleeve up and draws a rune on his arm. Simon looks alarmed at the act.
"He's burning his arm with a pencil," Jeremy muttered. Even if he knew it wasn't an actual pencil, seeing as pencils didn't do that.
Clary seeing the look tries to reassure him, "I know. Trust me."
"Doesn't she not know anything too?"
"He's, like, burning himself."
Jace finishing his rune takes Simon's hand in his. This gets more words from the frighted human. "Buddy, what's going on, man? I'm not your type, man. I don't even-"
Suddenly, Simon is able to see the Institute. Computers and LED lights all around the room. Shadow-hunters walk around, talking, planning and ignoring the trio, "Where are we? What the hell? Clary, is there a war going on that I don't know about?"
Jace, clearly proud of himself, walks away from them, saying, "There is now."
"I think my mother's at the center of it." Clary says before once again, following after Jace who calls out to Simon "You coming?"
"Who is her mother?" Bonnie asked.
Caroline shrugs, "This is the first time she's mention I think,"
Simon follows after the two. "Yeah. What is this place? There's a lot of gear in here. What'd they do, rob a tech shop?" He looks at Jace who is tapping on a screen that shows the entrance to the 'church' where two cops are standing. "So this cold-blooded killer is gonna help us?"
