The next morning we all had breakfast together before I headed to the shelter and Reyah, Libby and Jerrick got ready for a catering job.
I was a little jealous that he got to stay with them but duty calls.
I pulled up at work and went in and spoke to Shirley and Pat and they said everything was good.
I went to the office to pay some bills and order more food and then went to check on the animals.
By the time the day was over, I headed back to Libby's to see Reyah. I can't wait to kiss her lips again.
I pulled up and saw Jerrick outside walking toward his truck.
"Hey Jerk what's up?"
"I'm heading to mom and dad's to pack up my stuff."
"Are you really moving in here?"
"Yeah I talked to Reyah about it and she said she was ok with it and she wouldn't be so worried when she's with you."
"She said that to me."
"Plus I really like this catering thing. The dog party today was hilarious and I enjoyed it." He smiled.
"Well sounds like you have it figured out. Do you need help packing or are you good?"
"Oh, I'm good you know I don't have much stuff in my room."
"Is mom ok with it?"
"She said she is." He shrugged.
"Alright, I'll see you later," I said heading toward the house.
I walked in and Libby and Reyah were on the couch watching tv and Libby was holding Spooky.
I had to do a double-take when I saw that.
"Hey, guys!"
"Hey!" Reyah jumped up and wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed my lips.
"I see Spooky is visiting with grandma."
"Yeah, I love this little thing. I'm trying to talk Reyah into letting me keep him."
I looked at Reyah and she shrugged. "I hate to leave him but I know he's in good hands."
"I have a bunch of kittens at the shelter why don't you come down and pick one out?"
"I can do that if you don't want to give up Spooky." She laughed.
"I don't really want to give him up." I smiled.
"Me either." Reyah smiled.
"Can we go now?" She asked.
"Mom, Do you want to go now and find a kitten?"
"Yeah, I really do."
"Alright, let's go then," I said.
"Let me go put Spooky back upstairs first," Reyah said.
I watched her ass as she walked up the steps until Libby spoke.
"Madden I don't mind paying to adopt one. I don't want it just for free. How much is adoption?"
"It's forty-five dollars for a cat."
"Well, I want to do it the right way you know." She smiled just as Reyah walked back downstairs.
"Let's take my rover," Reyah said putting on her coat and toboggan.
"I'm driving but text Jerrick so he knows where we are because I think he was coming back."
"Oh yeah, he will be back he's moving in," Reyah smirked.
"So I heard." I laughed.
We got in the vehicle and drove to the shelter.
Shirley and Pat were still there doing the last round of feeding and looked shocked when we came in.
"What brings you back, Boss?" Pat asked.
"Reyah's mom Libby wants to adopt a kitten," I said walking into the room with all of the kittens.
"Oh goodness, how am I ever gonna pick? They all are so cute." Libby said.
"Pick a kitten about Spooky's size or bigger mom so it can roam the house," Reyah said.
"Yeah, I guess I could. Let me look around and see if any of them catch my eye."
As Libby walked around she didn't realize that a tortie was following her around. I looked at Reyah and she smiled.
"Mom look behind you. I think that tortie is following you around."
She turned around the little cat meowed and Libby picked it up and snuggled it.
"Oh, I love this one. Is it a boy or girl?" She asked.
I walked over and lifted up its tail. "That would be a girl."
"Oh, I want this one! I will name her peanut butter."
Reyah laughed. "Sounds great mom. We will get the paperwork filled out for you."
"Ok, I'll be here with my kitty." She smiled.
I walked to my office and got the paperwork and let Reyah fill it out for Libby.
Once we were done Libby was smiling and snuggling peanut butter.
"You guys ready to go?" I ask.
"Yeah just get the money out of my pocket Reyah."
Reyah got the fifty dollars out of her mom's pocket and handed it to me.
"Keep the change Madden!" She smiled.
I took the money and locked it in my desk drawer.
When I walked back into the room Reyah was putting peanut butter in a cat carrier and we headed out to her vehicle.
"We can bring the carrier back tomorrow. I was afraid she would freak out." Reyah said.
"You know I don't mind." I smiled over at her.
"So Madden when do I get her spaded?"
"When she's six months old if you don't want her getting pregnant."
"Oh no, I don't want that. Do you have a person?"
"Oh yeah, I do I can help you with that. No problem."
We pulled up at the house and Jerrick was sitting in the drive way.
We got out of the vehicle and Jerrick smiled. "Cool we got another roommate!"
"That's peanut butter Jerrick." Libby smiled.
"Boy or girl?" He asked.
"It's a girl." Reyah smiled carrying the cat cage in.
"Oh, I need a cat bed and water and food bowl," Libby said.
"Come on Lib I'll take you," Jerrick said.
"Really? Ok, let's go now before they take her out of the cage." Libby said.
I looked over at Reyah and smirked as they pulled out of the driveway.
