Friday night I went up to our room to read my letter from dad.

Madden had to run back to the shelter so I decided to read it while he was gone.

I sit down on the bed and crossed my legs and tore the letter open.

When I saw my dad's handwriting I was already tearing up.

My Dearest Reyah,

I know this is your special day and I can only imagine how beautiful you will be. I remember when we had your baptism and your mom had you dressed so beautifully and that's how I think of you.

I'm hoping you are getting married to Madden but if that's, not the case I hope you are happy and in love and love him as much as I love your mother.

I hate that I am not here to walk you down the aisle but know that I am with you and I am watching you today and always.

You will always be my baby girl Reyah and don't you ever forget that. I love you so very much even after my last breath.

I hold the letter to my chest and just cry my eyes out. I miss my dad so bad that the hole in my heart I don't think can ever be filled.

He knew just the words to say to me. I fold the letter up and put it back in the envelope and lay down on the bed in a ball.

The cats come and cuddle me and I must fall asleep until I feel Madden's lips on my cheek.

"You ok babe?"

"I read my dad's letter and it killed me so I needed a good cry."

"I'm so sorry Reyah." He said wrapping his arm around me.

"Thanks! Was everything ok at the shelter?"

"Yeah, we had a momma cat have kittens and Pat wanted me there in case something happened."

"Oh, I want to see them." I laughed sitting up.

"I know you do. You can see them when we get back. Are you ready for bed so that we can get up early and head to the lake house?"

"That sounds like a plan. I'm tired anyway Madden."

We got in bed and went right to sleep and woke up bright and early and Brynn and Joey followed us down to the lake house.

Everyone else was going to follow Shirley down a little later.

Once we got there Joey helped Madden set things up and we went inside to work on my hair and makeup.

"How are you feeling?"

"Nervous and excited but I read the letter my dad left for me for the day I got married and I cried myself to sleep."

"Aww, that was sweet that he left you a letter Reyah."

"Thank you for everything that you have done for me Brynn I couldn't do it alone."

"You are my bestie and you know I would do anything for you. Let's get your makeup on."

"Will you make sure that Madden doesn't come in here?"

"Sure I can do that." She said walking out of the room.

When she walked back in she was holding a little red box.

"What's that?"

"A gift from Madden. He wanted you to have it before the ceremony."

I opened the box and saw those beautiful diamond earrings shaped like hearts. "Oh, I love them."

After my hair and makeup were done I put on the earrings before putting on my dress.

"You look beautiful Reyah."

"Thank you! I'm ready to get married." I giggle.

Brynn walked out and when she came back in she clapped her hands. "It's time to start. Here is your boutique and I'm going to walk out and then you after me when you hear the music."

"Alright, I can do that. Did Madden look hot?"

"Yes, he did and smiling so big. Let's go woman and get you married."

I watched Brynn disappear out the door and then when the music begin to play I knew it was my turn and I walked out toward the water's edge to Madden.

I couldn't stop smiling. It all was a dream come true besides not having my dad on my arm. I swallowed back my tears and walked up to Madden.

"You look gorgeous Reyah."

"And you look hot."

The preacher was Shirley's husband and he asked us to join hands. After we had a prayer for the ones who couldn't be there he said it was time to say our vows.

"Reyah you first." He said.

I pull out the piece of paper in the top of my dress and Madden grins.

"Madden I take you exactly as you are. Loving you today and for all our days to come. From this day forward I promise to be thankful for our adventures as one, to love and cherish every moment, to give generously to our life together.
I will always put us first, every day for the rest of our lives."

"Reyah you may put his ring on his finger." The preacher said.

I slip his ring on his finger and he wipes a tear from his eyes before beginning his vow.

"Reyah I choose you for life. I promise you my deepest love. I promise to love you, to commit to you, and to support you.

You have shown me what love feels like and for that I thank you. You are everything I need and that this moment I know all my prayers have been answered and that all of my dreams have come true.

I know that our love is heaven-sent and I promise to be here forever and always. My heart will be your shelter and my arms will be your home.

As I have given you my hand to hold. I give you my life to keep."

I can't help the tears that are falling down my face as he finishes and places my ring on my finger.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. Madden you may kiss your beautiful bride!"

I watch as he places his hands on my face and softly rubs my skin with his thumbs before leaning in and kissing me tenderly.

As we break apart we turn around and everyone is clapping.
