Chapter 30 - The Rice Crisis (Not Really)

A/N: I know, I know, I'm still in my exam, but an idea suddenly popped and I couldn't help it. Mumei and the rice crisis, but a bit altered than the original.

Also, looking back at my early chapters, holy shit my grammar was shitty as fuck. I might have to do some rewritings.

3rd POV

It has been two weeks after HoloCouncil's debut. Nothing goes wrong and everything's normal.

Elvin was streaming Genshin Impact.

"Aight. Before I close my stream. I'm gonna do one 10 pull. Let's see where this goes."

He pulled 10 times on Eula's banner. A gold falling star appeared.

"Please..."

After clicking several times, the 5 star character was revealed to be...

Qiqi.

"......"

He went silent for a while before saying in an emotionless face.

"See ya later."

He ended the stream. He took a deep breath before calming down. He screamed internally.

'WHY?! WHY QIQI?! I KNOW YOU'RE PRECIOUS BUT I NEED EULA! AAAAAAAA–'

Knock! Knock!

"Hm?"

"Hey, Elvin. It's about time for dinner. Mumei's cooking." Gura called.

"Oh, yeah. I'll be there."

Elvin went to the kitchen to find Mumei standing in front of the rice cooker.

"Hey, Mumei?"

She didn't respond.

"Uh... Mumei?"

She looked back with nervous eyes.

"Help me." She whispered.

"Huh?"

He looked over to see the rice cooker full of rice. Their rice cooker is larger than normal people, considering that they had 11 people living in the house.

"I want to make fried rice, but the rice is not enough. And then there's a lot of people here so I made a lot of rice, but I didn't think that it would be this much. I don't know what to do with it."

"It's alright. You take the rice you need. Let me handle the rest."

"Are you sure it's alright?"

"Yep."

Mumei smiled and hugged him.

"Thank you, senpai! I was stressed out just because of this!"

He headpatted her. "Mhm. No problem."

"What are you two doing?" Kiara said while her hands were on her hips.

Both of them froze and released the hug.

"N-Nothing!"

They eyed the two of them suspiciously before shrugging.

After Mumei took the portion needed to make fried rice, Elvin took a Tupperware and put the rest of the rice inside.

After dinner, Elvin went to Nero's home.
