Chapter 19

-two years later-

Mrs. Everdeen found her son pacing around and around in the kitchen.

"Terrence, I was just wondering, why did you and Aspyn want to be erased from the game's history?" She asked.

"I didn't want our children to know that we had a part in the games. At least, that was my reason. I don't know about her." Terrence replied.

"Terrence by 'our children' you meant both you and Aspyn. Right?" Mrs. Everdeen said, excitedly.

"I knew, even then, that we made a good team. Now I think... Well, I just hope she feels the same about me."

"When are you going to ask her?"

"Tonight."

.      -a few months the later-

Seven year old Ali was running back to the little cottage with a bouquet. The dog, which was half wolf, ate the original one, so she was sent to pick more flowers. She was so excited. Today was the best day since the day she went to the Capitol when she was five.

“Alianna Olivia Everdeen!” she heard her mom yell, “Hurry up!”

“I’m coming!” Ali was going as fast as she could without ruining her dress. It was Olive green and the most beautiful dress she owned. When she, finally, got to the dressing room she knocked on the door.

    “Come in” said a voice.

Ali came in a gasped. The lady inside was beautiful. Her dress was a simple white dress with a sash that was, also, olive green. She had a wreath of white flowers on her head with a shimmering, long veil. Her hair was down with soft waves from being in a braid so often. She looked like a princess

“Oh.” Ali breathed, “You look beautiful Aspyn.”

“Thank you. The flowers are perfect. They’re almost better than the last bouquet.”

The wedding was taking place in Aspyn’s old home, District Seven, in a forest. It was a perfect setting considering the couple’s background. Terrence Everdeen had proposed Aspyn in District Twelve under a tree that they used to climb all the time.

    “Are you ready?” Ali asked.

“Yes. I’ve done more difficult things in the past. Besides, when this is over, I’ll be your real sister.

Ali knew all about Aspyn’s younger sister, Emalia, and how she died. She also knew that Aspyn thought of her as a new sister.

“That would be fun!” said Ali, “When you have a baby, can I babysit?”

“Sure. You can come over as much as you want as long as your brother doesn’t object.” Aspyn replied.

When Ali walked down the aisle with Aspyn, she saw many familiar faces. There was Rebecky and Mr. Trinket with their five year old daughter, Effie. She saw Aspyn’s good friend Leif, who designed the dresses. On the other side was Terrence and Aspyn’s friend’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Valen. Their daughter, Rika, died and they found comfort in Rika’s last friends. Last she saw her other brother, Gage. He was Terrence’s best man, even though they had many arguments in the past. Ali knew that Terrence and Aspyn were loved by many people and wanted to be just like her sister-to-be.

After the wedding, there was a reception. Aspyn was on the dance floor most of the time dancing with Terrence, her father, Terrence’s father, Leif, or Mr. Valen. Ali’s mother was the cook. She was the best one they knew and she insisted that she do it. Everything was going just as planned, for once. Today was truly a day that would be remembered.
