When Zane awoke, he was still wrapped in vines, but he was now sitting in a chair in the middle of the woods. His arms remained rigid at his sides, unable to be lifted even in the smallest motion. He looked around to see if there was anything other than trees, but all he saw was trees and darkness as far as his eyes could see.
"Hello, is anyone there?" shouted Zane from where he sat.
He did not receive a response. He didn't think it would be useful to keep yelling for help because no one appeared to be nearby. He tried to use his powers, but all it did was freeze the vines around him. He tried to break them, but he couldn't move enough for them to even crack. He became aware of a slight movement behind him. Some of the leaves began to crackle, as if someone had stepped on them. Someone then abruptly walked around his left side.
"Hello Zane," said the masked figure once again.
"What do you want with us?" he said back.
"You guys ask so many questions, and not the right ones?" they said back.
"Well, what exactly am I supposed to ask? You do not have the most friendly environment here," said Zane back in the most sarcastic tone he could get out.
Just then, he heard another crunch of leaves from behind him. This time, someone approached his left side. It was Cole! But not the Cole he knew.
He was still under their control.
"Cole, it's me, Zane! Snap out of it!" Zane yelled trying to get his attention.
"Don't you remember? You already tried that. He's mine now."
"Are you going to do the same to me?" he asked, knowing his fate.
"Time will tell," they said back.
The masked person whistled once more, and the Cole began to move robotically once again. He walked behind Zane, uncovered a box, and returned it to where they were standing. He handed the masked figure the box, which was a small and wooden that opened from the top. As far as Zane could tell, it has no design, but it appears to have some damage along the sides.
They then took a small flower from the box. Zane was perplexed; he had expected some kind of weapon. The flower was tiny and red, a shade of red almost identical to Kai's. When they shifted the box, all he saw was a pile of the same flower. They seemed to be important for something but he did not know for what.
"What is that for?" questioned Zane as the figure moved closer.
"How do you think I was able to get your friend on my side?" said the figure.
"With that small flower?" questioned Zane again.
"Again, you ask too many questions," they said.
As they got closer to Zane, he started to worry about what was going to happen to him next. He didn't want to hurt his friends like Cole, but his options seemed limited at the moment.
"Do not do this!" said Zane.
"Oh, I am not going to," they said, with a slight now towards Cole, "He is."
They handed the small red flower over to Cole, and he made his way over to Zane. He lowered the small flower closer to Zane's face.
"Wait," they said.
They moved to the side of Cole and began to remove their mask. Zane gasped.
He now knew their identity, but he knew he could no longer be of any help to his friends.
