They all sat down to eat dinner, Jordan, of course, staying right beside Simone the entire time. But once dinner was over and conversation, drinking, games, and music were going on throughout the house, Jordan had disappeared the second Simone left to use the bathroom.

"Where'd Jordan go?" Simone couldn't find him nowhere in the house. "I literally left for two seconds."

"I think I saw him leave," Mel shrugged, now on her second full glass of spiked apple cider.

"Leave where?"

"I don't know. He just grabbed his jacket and went outside without even saying nothing."

Simone made her way to the front door and when she opened it up, Jordan was sitting on the steps talking to Tiffany's oldest son about Avatar: The Last Airbender.

"I watched it when it first came out on TV, yuh know," Jordan told the six year old boy.

"Really? Me and my brother watched it on Netflix."

"Of course y'all did," Jordan let out a little chuckle. "I watched all the greats as they aired in real time. Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, Pokémon. All of them."

"Oh, so you're old then!" The little boy exclaimed.

"Jr.!" Simone called his name, causing him to finally turn around and acknowledge her presence. She was quiet the whole time, just watching them interact, but that got her, because why would he say that?

"Oh, hi Aunt Simone," he smiled up at her like he didn't just say what he said. "I really like your friend. He's so cool. He likes all the same shows and games I like."

"Mmm, really?" She stole a glance at Jordan who was looking right back at her. "I guess he can be pretty cool. But you know you can't just be coming outside alone and not letting your mom know. What if she was looking for you?"

"But I'm not alone. I'm with an adult."

"An adult you don't know."

"But you know him," Jr. rebutted. "Meaning I can trust him, right?"

"Come on baby," Simone didn't answer him. She instead held her hand out to him and he took it. "Go back inside for me please. I think I heard Tiana asking for you in there."

"Okay," he nodded his head, going back through the front door.

"I see you're a hit with Jr., and he doesn't really take well to people," Simone sat down on the step next to Jordan. "His autism makes him a little awkward around most people."

"Well I'm a lil awkward too, so," Jordan shrugged. "He seems like a good kid though."

"He is. He's the best kid," Simone wrapped her cardigan tighter around her body. "But I didn't come out here to talk about Tiffany's kids."
