Simone was standing in her bathroom mirror, wrapped in her light pink satin robe, her hair pulled up into a ponytail, doing her very extensive skin care routine while Jordan was in the shower."I used your body wash again," Jordan called from inside of the shower. "You shoulda told me you wanted me to spend the night earlier and I woulda brought my own."
"I don't care. You're good," she tried her best to focus her eyes on herself in the mirror.
But as hard as she tried, she couldn't help wishing she had the power to see through the fog on the shower's glass door.
The water turned off a couple minutes later and Jordan reached only his arm out of the shower, reaching for the towel on the hook so he wouldn't have to step out completely naked.
"Can I use this?" He stood on the other side of her double sinks and pointed at the jar of whipped body butter she had sitting open on the counter that she had used on her own skin.
"You can use this," she handed him a much less expensive bottle of Jergens body lotion.
"Thanks," he squeezed the lotion into his hands and rubbed it in a bit before starting with his arms and upper chest.
Simone bit down on her lip as she watched Jordan in the mirror, praying to God he would take the towel off, but he never did. He just moved around it, putting his hands under the towel to lotion the parts of his body she couldn't see.
"Don't—" Simone moved his hands away from rubbing the body lotion onto his face. "What the hell are you doing?"
"Lotioning my face?" He stated it as a question because he thought it was pretty obvious what he was doing.
"With this?" She took the bottle from him.
"What else I'm supposed to use?"
"They really aren't lying when they say men don't be caring about their skin," Simone shook her head. "You have to tone first. And then you need a hydrating serum to go with your moisturizer. And an oil. Some people say they don't need it, but trust me, they do."
"Just do it for me. Cause I'ma be honest, I don't know what the hell you just said."
"Bend down then. With your tall ass," she mumbled that last part.
"Nah, you just short as hell," Jordan picked her up with ease, like she didn't weigh anything at all to him, and placed her on the counter so she was just a bit higher up now.
"I'm really not... but whatever," she reached for the toner beside her and dabbed some onto a cotton pad before gently swiping it across his skin.
"You actually have really nice skin," she whispered as she kept applying the products to his face.
"Thanks. I made it myself."
