A lone figure stood atop a hill overlooking the green grassland that remained empty for the moment. Her golden eyes glimmered in the sunlight as silver hair floated with the wind, paired with the scenery the Meister looked like a vision straight out of a painting.
Well, she would have, had the spectators took no account of her clothing.
In contrast to the scenery around her, Azazel was dressed for battle. Adorned in her old battle garb, a white dress interwoven with gold armor reminiscent of those worn during the ancient times. Matching low-heeled knee high boots encased her feet and through the small openings of a familiar orange cloak was the slight glimpses of weapon holsters on her person. A pale hand reached upwards to fiddle idly with the orange orb that laid around her neck from a chain of silver.
"I never thought that we'd be back here again." Azazel murmured out nostalgically, eyes seeming faraway. "To where everything began, rather ironic isn't it Renato?"
The shadows beneath her seemed to bend and shake, before the hitman's figure appeared from their depths. Although he was dressed as he usually was, the teen had no doubt that the hitman was covered with hidden weapons, and that was without accounting for Leon along with the gun he usually used.
"It's a good place to bring an end to all of this." Stepping out from the shadows, Reborn moved to stand next to the teen, dark eyes glancing at her momentarily before shifting to take notice of the terrain that would be their battleground. "I'd never thought that we'd get to see you in that again."
The now silver-haired teen felt as her cheeks grew heated. "Oh shut up, we didn't have time to get me modern gear alright."
"Hey, I'm not complaining." Reborn replied with a smirk, before his eyes took on a more somber light. "I know that all of us decided that this would be for the best but, are you okay with this?"
Azazel blinked up at him, the hitman having moved forwards so that they stood face to face. She remained silent for a moment, simply gazing up and gauging the man's expression before finally heaving a sigh. The teen twisted her head slightly so that she was facing the open fields, " I won't say that I'm completely okay with it, after all it's not like I haven't forgotten about what had happened here."
The hitman remained silent despite the lengthy pause, knowing his Meister well enough that she had yet to finish her thoughts.
"But, I also think that this will be good for me." Azazel stated solemnly, golden eyes unblinking. "Finishing everything where it started I mean. After today we can finally be done with this part of Azazel's life and live on without having to look over our shoulders for that maniac."
Pausing, she shifted back so that golden eyes were staring into black. The silver-haired teen grinned up at the hitman, "We'll finally get to live the lives we've always talked about before."
Reborn's black eyes widened momentarily at her words, before they softened as a small fond smile tugged at his lips. He accommodatingly leaned down as the teen leaned upwards, allowing his Meister to press their foreheads together gently.
"I'm looking forward to that."
Both of them remained in comfortable silence for a moment, eyes closed and with soft smiles gracing their faces. They were brought out of their small bubble when they spotted Leonora coming over, the look on her face grim.
"Looks like they've arrived." Azazel let out a tired sigh, reluctantly detaching herself from the hitman's grip. Reborn let out a small 'tch', before he schooled his features and extending out a hand to the teen.
"Shall we?"
The Meister glanced at the offered hand briefly before a smile grew on her face as she laced their fingers together.
